I have five tattoos already, and plans for many many more. I think it's important, though, if someone decides to get a tattoo, that they really think about what they are going to get, because it is permanent. Each of my five tattoos has a lot of meaning for me, and I waited 10 years from the time I got my first idea to when I actually got that tattoo. I don't wait that long any more, but I do toss the idea around in my head for at least a month before I get any tattoo. i know that even when I am older, I will be happy to have these permanent reminders of past days, and I will enjoy being a very colorful old lady! :)

I absolutely LOVE body art and have 2 tats myself and HOPEFULLY for a treat to me for my birthday I'll be getting another one done...I think that if they are done well and for the right reasons then tattoos are quite beautiful really...Of course they certainly arent for everyone by any means...

I cannot speak for anyone else, but as for me to have a tattoo on my body,, I always wanted a small tat, that was very beautiful or had a huge significance for me! What I do not like though are tattoos all over the place on ones body that is tooooooo much, and of course being done in good taste! just my 2 cents worth!

I heart my body art. I have three tattoos and six piercings. Each tattoo has particular significance for me, and the piercings are just a random display of my personality. But the thought of meaningful tattoos makes me feel great, not sick, and it really does not matter to me if they're cute or not, as long as they're powerful.

I have one tattoo that I got over 10 years ago and I still love it. I have no plans to get another. Half the time I even forget its there. Then I look at it and it;s like, oh yeah, hey tattoo how ya doing...

I have 7 tattoos currently. I got the first one when I was 16 years old. Tattoos are uniquely individual for everyone. If you're a person who doesn't like them, that's fine because you don't understand the significance and meaning in the tattoo. If you're one who likes them but doesn't want one, that's fine too because you're just uncomfortable with that permanence of a meaningful thing. If you're one who likes tattoos than you understand the beauty and the significance and meanings that go into tattooing something permanently on your skin. All of my tattoos have very special meanings to me...and they all will constantly have meanings to me. That's just how it is. It's not about what it looks like. You know... your hair turns gray your boobs sag you get wrinkles you gain weight...these are things that happen when you get older. It's a part of you and it does what it does. A tattoo has the meaning no matter whether it's cute or not when you grow old.

Tattoos are another way of expressing your individuality. But there are risk involve that everyone must know before they should get into it. The risk involve are: infection from unsterile equipment and needle, problem removable when you finally don't want them anymore, Allergic reactions, granulomas, keloid formations. Some develop MRI complications. That is when your doctor orders you to undergo Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), there are reports that other people with tattoo develop complication. Hope this information can be of help to those who want to want a tattoo. They look attractive, sure, but are they worth it?

I see nothing wrong with tatoos in and of themselves. It is my opinion that some folks go way overboard on them and tend to look foolish. And some others make wrong choices on what they tatoo on themselves. Again - just opinion. I do not have any tatoos. I would like to have at least one though. However, due to a damaged lower lumbar that has been messing with my nerves over the years, my skin is overly sensitive to pain and I would not be able to stand still long enough to do any tatoo work on me (I know these are sometimes done in sessions). One tatoo I know I want is an intricate celtic knotwork on my lower lumbar. Yeah - the place where the damage is and where it hurts the worse LOL.

For me tattoos mark a milepost in my life, or have some other significant meaning. For instance, I have the kanji for "brave at heart" tattooed on my left arm. I got it when I was going to apply for art school, because I knew a lot of things would change if I would be accepted and I would need a reminder to stay brave and live life at it's fullest. So no, tattoos doesn't make me sick. It's more the other way around.
