What is a normal age to move out?

I have noticed that some people move out when they are in their mid-teens while others stay at home as late as in their 30s. I am wondering what is a normal age for moving out? Any comments?

I would say that there's not such a thing as a normal age for moving out because it's different. Personally I wouldn't say people over the age of 25 (who don't need to look after there parents etc is a normal thing to do) But I would say a certain age. Maybe 18-22 in other peoples thoughts. I'm not greatly sure but kudos! ~Joey

We can say, at any age from teen to 30's can moved out, depends on how they can managed their lives outthere. Teen moves out coz' they want to explore. and other maybe more than 30 still not moving for they know the living outside the family....

Strange question. I have a friend who is 33 and still with his parents. I myself was out by 17 but I did have instances where I came back to stay with my parents periodically because of finances. Now that I am married and have children things are much different. Life is not so simple when you have kids. LOL. Hoestly I say that a child should be able to stay until they finish College if they are going to school close by for the first 4 years. 22 say. But after that they should be self sufficient. Of course that's my opinion.

probably anytime after 18,although i know quite a few people who have begged their kids to come back home with the rising prices of taxes and bills. they couldn't make it otherwise.

I moved out as soon as I turned 18 and graduated high school. I could not wait and had been counting down the days for years it seems. Its not so easy these days. My daughters that are 20 and 22 moved out at 18 but have been back a couple of times. they are currently living with boyfriends parents. High cost of living makes it extremely difficult to be on your own. If a person is single, it is almost impossible especially for a young person. It used to be expected that once a kid graduated high school that they would be on their own unless in college. Times have changed I think. I don't think there is any certain age anymore. I think what is important if you are living at home is that mom and dad are not supporting you while you party it up with friends.

I think around 25 or 26 is a good age to start moving out, because by than you will proberly be finished college, and sould think about managing your own life and take on some responsiabilty of adulthood.

There's always a reason in moving out, one is when you think that you can stand on your own and can live without your parents behind. Others stay because they want to personally take care of the olds or they don't have the capacity to live alone. Other reason is when their house is far from their work and they have no recourse but to move.
