What are some of the main factors that effect our personality? Is it a persons mood at a certain time;their state of mind? What about a persons personality do you think strongly influences a persons response to certain situations? Please comment.

Upbringing and environment, the things that you experienced in childhood greatly contribute to your personality. Abuse and neglect can have a negative effect on your personality. While praise and encouragement can have a positive effect. Once a persons personality is formed, it is extremely hard, but possible to change. For instance, a person like me, with a personality disorder, like Borderline, requires anywhere from 5 to ten years of therapy to unlearn the ingrained maladaptive behavior. The personality has a lot to do with how you see yourself and how you perceive the world around you. As we all know, the mind is very complicated.

You can say that again. It is very hard to figure some people out.I see my self as just being "me". I would like for people to like me, but if they don't,oh well. Thanks for responding.
