Did you friend ever try to recruit you into a cult?

I suppose it depends on what you consider a cult! =p I've been invited to join many strange and interesting religious groups by friends, including ones that I considered pretty scary! There have been times when I have worried about impact religion had on my friends, when it cut them off from people they cared about, or caused them to behave in ways that are harmful. Those are the things that make me think "cult". No matter what people are trying to recruit me into, I politely inform them that I already have my own beliefs, and that those beliefs aren't going to change. Anyone who is going to be my friend has to accept that, just as I accept their beliefs. That's one of my major requirements for friendship with someone. I have lost friends over refusing to join their religions before, but they were always members of the big mainstream religions, not ones that would be considered cults by most anyone.
