I was told about 20 years ago, that my dry and itchy skin is due to my hypothyrodism. Does anyone else experience this. What do you do for it?

i have that problem too, 20 years ago i was diagnosed with graves disease (hyperthyroidism), then after radiation treatment, i am now hypothyroid... which is the opposite. i take a pill everyday for the rest of my life, a synthetic replacement for the thyroid gland.. its very important to get your blood levels checked every 6 months or so, because as you get older your body changes and the need for the replacement also changes...see your doctor!

thats good! this is such a common problem, and so many women don't even know that they have it.

i started taking biotin as a suppliment-it's helped me quite a bit.made my hair stronger too. i have some of that intensive care lotion for my skin also in the worst patches, and increased my water intake per day.the combination has stopped all but the worst of it.

I have undergo thyroidectomy 14 years ago and as far as i can remember, i have not experience dry and itchy skin. The symptoms for me are fast heart beat, fatigue, perspiration, but nothing in the skin.
