I read an article in "Pharmacy Times", June 2007 edition, website is http://www.pharmacytimes.com if you can search for the article.
The National Sleep Foundation did a poll of 1003 women between 18 to 64 years old. This is what they found:
- Almost 70% of women have sleeping problems, mostly caused by stress and anxiety.
- 60% claim they get only a good night's sleep a few nights a week.
- Stay-at-home moms! 74% of you experience insomnia at least a few nights a week, and 50% of you stay-at-home moms said they woke up feeling less than fully rested.
- 72% of working women and 68% of single working women experienced insomnia as well.
- If pressed for time, you ladies will:
a) sacrifice sleep (52%)
b) sacrifice exercise (48%)
- If you ran out of time, you ladies will:
a) reduce time spent with family and friends (39%)
b) stop eating healthily. (37%)
c) Stop making love with partner. (33%)
d) Opt out of work if pressed for time/energy: 20%.
I am so concerned for you women. Is this true!? Would you
put work before your family, friends, and religion? How is this possible?! Aren't there more important things in your life.
What's most surprising is that I didn't realize so many women suffer from insomnia. I sleep so well, and I can't believe there are women that can't sleep well.
Please, Women AND MEN, comment on this issue. Hey you 80% of women, what are you doing? Why would you choose to work more if you have little time or no energy?
Let's discuss!
Pablo
