What to do now?

my family has been completely screwed around lately. my father was laid off because his company wasn't making enough money. He recently found a new job (whcih is good), however, it is making much less money than he was before. my medical situation has not been good at all. For some reason i have been getting worse. my breathing is harder and i require more oxygen. my liver and kidneys are not doing so well. my platlets are really high. The worst is the government taking away my MediCare, which i so desperately need. i still have MediCal, but that doesn't really cover anything. As of right now, i have no doctros and no hospital coverage. i can't go to any specialist, which are what i need. All i can do is go to a filthy clinic, whcih will not so me any good. We are trying to get me supplemental insurance which will be better than nothing, and then get insurance through my father's new job once he gets benefits. We don't know that i will be accepted, though, because of all my medical problems and the fact that i am 23. Really, though, i think the government should pay for medical and insurance companies should only be for elective surgeries and such. You know, in most European nations (and in Canada), it is socialized medicine and it works out SO much better for the people. In France, you can actually get the government to pay for a spa retreat if you are suffering from stress and a doctor recommends it. That is pretty incredible, i think. i completely agree with it. You know, that is what Hilary is fighting for that i agree with so strongly. i don't know much else about her stances, though. i just know about the medical end because it REALLY affets my family. i guess that is a little selfish. Before the elections come about, i will have to start reading up on it. i need to make an informed decision. i hate that not only are you voting for a President, but also a Vice President. i hate that. i which you could vote on them separately and (hopefully) people will vote for a good match. Unfortunately, the people are (in general) really stupid and re-elect people like Bush. i guess it does make sense in some ways that the Pres and Vicd=e Pres come as a package. There will be less squabbling because they (generally) have similar ideals and whatnot. i just think a lot of the time it creates a (somewhat) monopolistic government. Oh well. We will see what happens with the next elections.

i know how you feel.i've got 2 surgeries coming up,and i've had to apply for a loan to do so (no insurance). they need to do something about health care in this country.i have friends from other countries shake their heads in astonishment that a large majority of americans have no insurance whatsoever.

Isn't it utterly disgusting? Insurance should be for those elective procedures and whatnot and for the necessary ones, the government should pay for it all. It just makes me sick that our system is so archaic despite how much people are in need. Did you know that if an illegal were here and had an accident, the government would step in and completely take care of the bills for their care? Yet, America doesn't even take care of her own citizens. Sick.

You know, i'm not saying to NOT take care of these people... What i am saying is that we need to take care of our own citizens first and that when the illegals are well enough to go back to their own country, they should be sent back for their government to take over the bills.
