1.using typing tutors 2.practising on a type writer 3.without any help by yourself 4.any other Actually when i was in 12th i had been introduced to MS-Dos.At that time i was learning type-writing course in vacations. So typing on computer keyboard and finding keys on it was not difficult for me...It almost resembles type writing keyboard but we find additional keys on PC..i learnt easily...but coming to windows i learnt it 3 years back...big gap!!! ... Have you confused or find difficult to search keys on your PC keyboard? Do share your experience....

Dear Mymytri, I took secretarial course during my school days. Therefore I had the opportunity of learing typewriting from the age of 14. I started my career as stenographer. I, therefore, did not find any difficulty in typing in computer at the rate of 60 words per minute. Even the numbers I type blindly.

I learn to type on a typewriter before I have a chance to type on a computer. So when I finally have a computer, I have no problem with the keyboard. I have also experimented with many types of keyboard. The basic 26 alphabets are fine, but numbers and special characters, lol. I had fun, expecially when I used the notebook.

I learned typing back in 1967. I even passed an examination of typing conducted by the technical examination board in our state. But after that I did not type much for many years, that is till I joined for some computer course during 1987. However I had that previous experience of typing in a typewriter, so I dod not find any difficulty in typing in a computer. Thank you.

I did a business admin (secretarial) course 10 years ago, and we had to learn touch typing! We had to do loads of tests it was good! I never went into admin in the end so my typing isn't that quick and I do look where the letters are when typing, being here on mylot has helped me to pick up speed again!

Answer: 3. I've had some problems with typing but it was a long time ago... I've never paid much attention to typing, never been on courses etc. It just happens that one day you no longer need to look on keybord to write and so one. I often chat with friends on IRC or so... so this might be the reason. I guess typing skills just come with time, as you use the computer.

At school they taught us word processing. I picked it up pretty quickly and was the fastest typer in the wild west, I mean our class. With this knowledge and learning various short cut keys you can truly optimize your computer usability and efficiently.

I took typing, and some secretarial classes in high school. But I started typing when I was even younger then that. My grandmother had some old records that taught typing and I learned off of those with her old portable typewriter. When I got to high school and we had electric typewriters, it was great. We also had computer classes (back then it was the Apple computer)

I can type very fast, I thankfully learned years ago in a high school computer class so never paid anything. I remember they would teach us a few letters at a time, I found it so easy. A lot of my friends would cheat and just use two fingers. It was so funny at the time because no one knew that our final exam would be to copy a story - using a keyboard that was missing every letter, number and symbol! So I could constantly hear my friends going "Psst! Where's the question mark?!" LOL. Thanks to that class I learned my keyboard very well. =)

I had classes in school, starting with middle school, to learn typing basics. I have gotten much faster and skilled over the years by mainly teaching myself though.

Typing tutorials helps improved my skills in typing. It was the Master Typing software. We used to have a contest between my brothers who ends first and type the words with no errors. Glad, I bested them all.

I learned typing using the program Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. I was about 30 years old when I started typing. I now type at a speed of about 50 words per minute. I am really happy that I took the time to learn how to type. I have friends that I watch as they try to type an email or something one key at a time. Wow, I am sure happy I an no longer in that situation.

I learn typing just when i got the PC. I've stared to write everywhere in forums, chats and actually later i had a game which was learning of typing and i still have it now.But now i don't have any problems of typing. When spare a lot of time on writing comments, chating your starting to feel the keyboard and it starts to less difficult and at the end you may not look at the keyboard when you're writing :D

Back in college I took some keyboarding classes. I barely passed, but at least it paid off, and I almost memorized the placement of the keys. I was so close to failing, but I somehow survived. I even had freeware programs that help me practice my keyboarding. But so far the only keys I can memorize are the letters and the basic places of the keys.

Hi friend, A little late to answer you! Well! I don't have a very good typing speed. I never joined any classes, once ofcourse I tried typing tutor software, but i couldn't go according to the way they teach to keep particular finger on a particular letter. I type in the manner I feel convinient and my finger go randomly here and there he..he..he.

Hi Mymytri For me typing in a computer, is compartively a problem, as have not learnt typing at all. Infact i joined typing class and went to typing for two days, and on the third day i had wounded my hand, and it took nearly more than one month to heel. So bye, to typing. I now type by using the fore finger and the little finger on either hands to access all keys, and i somehow manage to do it..

I went to the TypeWriting classes when I was at the leave days of my Tenth grade. I did wanted to do something useful to me at that time, and so learnt type writing then. I believe, that is more useful to me nowadays in my job and also online, like in Mylot etc.

I think it was 7th or 8th grade when I learned to touch type. Whatever grade they make you learn. Back then we learned to type on a typewriter. Then when I got to high school I took all of the typing and business courses I possibly could. I usually had at least 2 typing classes a semester. Very easy credits, and I'm a great typer now. :o)
