Kidz bop... the most annoying CDs ever!!

I see these Kidz bop commercials all the time and I'm wondering, does anyone actually buy these for their kids? Here are the reasons I don't like them: 1. They are just taking random popular songs and making expensive CDs - I'm talking 19$ for the latest CD. 2. You don't even get to hear the actual artist, instead annoying kids are singing. Now maybe if the kids actually sang it like the artist, it would be ok... but they don't. It doesn't even sound like singing to me. 3. I see some songs on the CD that I wouldn't want my kids listening to. Even though they edit all the songs to be kid friendly, I've still seen songs by artists who are very adult and not meant for kids. 4. Finally, I like the original songs, so if I really wanted to let my kids listen I would rather make a CD from ITunes with the REAL artist for cheaper - and it would sound so much better! So what are your thoughts? Would you buy Kidz bop? I know I for sure won't!

I would not buy that for my children. I find the commericals very annoying and it actually gives me a headache. My children haven't bugged me for it which means that they won't even listen to it. I think that some people who buys this doesn't even know their kids and they are just buying it so they think that their kids will love it. I have to agree with you, it is the worse CD ever and it would be better if you went and bought the actual artist's songs from the downloadable sites. DOWN WITH KIDZ BOP!!!!!!!

Yay! Let's start a revolution together :) I think that Kidz Bop acts as if kids wouldn't be able to listen to the REAL songs by the REAL artists, but I think if the song is PG, then kids should learn to enjoy it AS IS - not with a bunch of kids singing it :P I wouldn't want my kids growing up thinking that is the way music sounds. They made it all the way to 12 CDs though, so someone out there must be buying them. Those are probably the people you see on American Idol who think they can sing, but really they sound like Kidz Bop! Haha.

I wouldn't buy these either. If I wanted something like this I would either record myself singing the songs onto a disk for them, or make them a disk with the original artists. If they wanted a disk of little kids singing, I could record get some of the local kids together and record them instead, and it wouldn't cost me $19 to do it.

OR, you could record your kids singing it :) They'd probably like that better! Either way, you are right, there are many ways to compile these songs for cheaper.

My kids are all too old for this... I was thinking about my granddaughters. They are still too young to do the singing themselves, but that would be a great idea for kids who are just a bit older.

I agree, they are completely annoying. The commercials come on at night - especially on Cartoon Network. The price is what gets me. I don't pay that much for REAL CD's from the original artists so why am I going to pay that much for knock off stuff? If kids want to sing, get them a cheap karaoke machine and some karaoke CD's and let them have some fun that way.

Karaoke is a great idea, and cheaper! For me the most annoying part though is that the kids seem to be just saying or screaming the words, they don't seem to actually konw how to sing. I wouldn't want my kids growing up thinking that is the way to sing.
