I've seen a few silly laws in the news, although I could not remember them specifically, so I went and did a search. Here's the think. Tell me what you think! http://www.main.com/~anns/other/humor/sillylaws.html

Laughed real hard at the one about Tenn with man running in front of car with red flag if a women is driving. They are all good and silly one but I do think that they need to remove alot from the law books heh? They are so out dated

Yeah, I can't believe some of them. Illegal to kill a mouse huh? I had a run of bad luck with my auto accidents a few years back. Maybe I could have used a guy running in front of my car with a red flag. But I still maintain that 3 out of my 4 accidents we're NOT MY FAULT! Luckily, nobody was hurt in any of them. Just fender benders.

I read through all of them and I have only one thing to say. They ought to make a law against making stupid laws.

LOL, I have seen better for Kentucky. There was one on the news not too long ago about how it is still on the books. No one is allowed to ride his or her camel down Main Street on Sundays. Good thing I seen that, cause I was just thinking about doing that exact thing being I just happen to have camels in Kentucky as a means of saving gas. :oP

Yeah, once in a while I'll see them bring them up on tv. I guess they just foget about them when they become outdated.

In Tennessee, it is illegal to shoot any game other than whales from a moving automobile. While this law may make sense in some coastal states, I am not sure it should make sense in Tennessee. LOL

Now some of these laws are really damn silly! Can you imagine outlawing walking backwards after sunset? Am very relieved my family does not live there-because my boys always return from their evening games after sunset and while homebound, they race backwards, not even walking but racing, and the one who wins the race takes a lot of pride in this otherwise, criminal activity in some parts of the world!LOL!

These are pretty silly today but I'll bet they were good in their day. But this one is is giving us trouble here in parts of South Carolina. In the England it is illegal to sell most goods on a Sunday, (this law is mostly ignored), it is however legal to sell a carrot. It is also legal to sell it at any price and to give free gifts with it, such as anything else one might want to buy on a Sunday! In the county I live in only groceries can be sold before 1;30 PM. It is called a blue law. You can shop and buy in other counties but not the one I live in. I would like to know the story behind each of those laws. I’ll bet they are pretty interesting.

Yeah, there are plenty of silly laws out there. So, I am not really surprised at all about that. I mean silly people are everywhere too you know.

I would seriously have to investigate what these law makers were drinking and smoking. As well it makes you wonder what the men were thinking or who was controlling them at the time as most of those laws were passed before women were allowed to vote. Which in its self speaks volumes. thanks for the laugh Robin

It is always fun to look at some of those silly or archane laws that we have in our states. I'm sure that someone has written a book, right. It would make for a fun read.

These are the laws from times past that are somewhat outdated yet have never been taken off the books. It would probably be a full time job for someone to get all these laws off the books, but then we wouldn't have anything to laugh about...:}

Wow.. What laws there are. I live in the UK and have been arrested yet for trading on a Sunday, and I've bought much more than carrots! And what about those animals who are not supposed to mate near the church - I do hope they can read signs, if they'e got them up? And if I come to L.A. I'll leave my sheep at home.. LOL I'll think I'd get a slap if I ask my wife if I can beat her with a belt larger than 2inchs wide - I don't think I'll have much time to get my belt off! Thanks for the laugh, it's really brightened up my day..
