Do you take long time thinking on what to answer to a discussion/post?

I do. I usually answer fast to simple posts, but about thoose that make me think or that bring deeper points to the discussion (wheather it is mine or others') I usually take weeks or sometimes months before answering to them, because I want to write my post when I am in my better moment of Inspiration, and when I have a well constructed answer that reflects what I have been thinking of the post in question... Do you do that? And on the other side, do you feel bad when you post something nice and long and you don't get an answer for a while, when you see simpler posts did get one?

I always try to think about all my answers. I try to get the most knowledge regarding the topic that I can. If I do not know about the topic, I will skip it. In my own discussions, I don't think I have had any "deep" discussions, nor were they trivial. They were discussions about things I was thinking about at the time. Whether personal or just something crossing my mind. If it is a discussion about what color underwear I have on, of course I will answer quickly, (if at all) and think longer and more in depth about more intellectual discussions. I do not get upset if the "trivial" discussions get more replies. They are just more "broad" and more people can relate to them. :)

I think you didn't get my point here (maybe I didn't explan well). I was talking about replying/commenting to thoose that answered to your things. For example, I got lots of answers to my "do animals have souls" topic, and I have answered to most people but some of the best ones may be still awaiting for my opinion on their answers... would that upset them if they come back browsing the discussion and see I have responded to others and not to them?

No, I don't think it should upset them. Looks as though I wasn't the only one that misunderstood. Sorry :(

If one grabs my attention, I like to answer right away. But sometimes it takes some time to compose my response. Some just flow smoothly, but others I have to think about. It also depends on if it is late at night and I am tired or not; then it can take longer especially since I would tend to have more typos then and have more to correct(I still miss some). Some take longer because I have more to say and some I want to answer but have only a small amount to say.

For me is the opposite. When one specially grabs my atention I leave it for the last and come later responding when I feel more relaxed...

I'm not willing to risk that since I might not remember to come back to it. So I try to respond when a discussion first attracts my attention.

I take my time, but not weeks maybe hours. I am an inquisitive person by nature, so thinking of questions to ask isn't hard for me. I also like to talk, so posting a reply isn't hard for me either. I think too much and I have a big mouth, which helps greatly on here, LOL.

I may wait a day or two before answering a particularly juicy topic, but usually I just jump right in. I figure I can always go back and add whatever I left out the first time. I also find that if I wait too long too many other interesting topics distract me. So, I try to answer soon, otherwise I might not answer at all. I do find that if I'm going to write a response I spend as much time as it takes to get it all out, and that can be a long time. I tend to reread and edit a lot, so I'm always spending a lot more time on MyLot than I plan to when I log in!

I know what you mean:) I feel this also. But I usually do that work of changing/editing/rereading in my mind before physically writing it.

It depends. Sometimes I can answer right away and the words just flow. Other times I may think about the topic for a day before I respond. PEACE

i take as much time as i want/ need to take to reply to the discussion so that i can gather up all the information which can be helpful in answering the topic. i usually don't take much time to respond to discussions.

I do sometimes, depends on the topic and the discussion. It is my belief that the simpler discussions get more play because most ppl are here to get paid, and taking time to think about an answer costs them a penny or two they could be posting drivel answers to drivel topics. Do you like ipod? What is your favorite color? When is your birthday? Do you like to eat? Drivel, but they rack up the responses...but they get no response from me. I prefer to talk about things that matter...or throw out a rant to blow off some steam, lol.

I have quick reactions even to more complicated discussions. I dont thing that the long ones are allways with better quality then the others. Some discussions need and predispode you to answer quickly, others-not. I never judge the people`s answer because of the loneliness.

This is a very honest question and is much appreciated. I have never taken weeks or months to answer one, because quite frankly my memory is fading quickly and I would lose track if I didn't write it down. I do, however, sit for quite awhile and give the very best answer that comes from my heart to questions that require a sincere answer. For the questions such as "what color, what day, etc.", I don't answer at all, I just move on. To me these are not questions, just money grabbing posts and I don't need to promote them, nor do I need to make money badly enough to add my blathering answer to them. As far as the last part of your question, the only time that I have only kind of sort of felt a twinge of bad, is when I give an answer that I have put a great amount of thought into and send it off only to find that the poster has already named a "best response" and the post has not even been up for a full 24 hour period. But, even then, I don't feel that bad. I still know that I have given my best and hope that it will help in some way. ~Donna

You are one of thoose I was talking about. You have given me long answers that made me think for a log time, and I hope you don't mind I have given feedback to simpler answers and not to yours (a recent example is your nice post in "animals have soul" discussion).

I hate to admit this, but I give very little genuine thought to my answers, I go on impulse. Often subjects arise that I have considered before, but even when it hasn't, I like to go with my gut feeling, and just let the words spill out.

Don't worry, my friend, I am well aware that I really do spill the words out on some of your discussions. I also know that your responses are well worth waiting for. It really is your own fault, though, that I give so much detail, because you put up really good discussions, and I find myself on a roll, and unable to stop.

Well, you are one of thoose I was talking about. You have given me answers of many pages long, and which has stayed for weeks without feeback. With this discussion I just wanted people in this case don't feel mad at me, the more time I take to respond to thoose kind of answers is the more time I have been thinking on them!

It depends on the post - sometimes I know exactly what I want to write , whether it is a simple or a complex post and other times I spend hours or days thinking it over - I don't think I have ever spent months though - my concentration wouldn't last that long! xxx

lol... I made this discussion because I felt guilty for that... I know they made a great effort in explaining that to me and they might be upset because I spent so much time before giving them feeback...

To what i call a fun post I answer real quick, infact I have already typed something befor I realy know what it is I am saying. But post that requier some intelect or deep thought I am slower to answer, I have to anilise the primiss of the question and base the primiss from where geograficly where the person lives as to not walk into an ambush. I also look at the persons other posting to get an idea of that persons general tone, Are they the kind who set people of a persusion up to answer them so they can then riticule that person? After thes things then I craft my responce to their perticuler predisposition as so I will not offend them with a very blunt or overly educated answer. However I will always be truthfull with my answers, but I will also be guarded with my answers not to reveil too much of my beleifs and or knowedge, As the old saying goes, I may have tought you everything you know, But I did not teach you everything that I know, lol. I love to respond to peoples questions of higher thought, espechialy the self proclaimed exsperts. These I usely give a shallow but crafted answer to draw a rebutal and then lay an epeffaney on them. As for your discussions, I love them, they are all over the map! And I like that, I don't like to stay with one subjest I love them all. polotics, religion, the sciences, litechure, and even evryday whos who. Your discussions always are fresh and make me change gears.

if you have to think than 1. the topic does not interest you 2 you are faking your reply in order to earn 1 cent. 3. you have no business replying THAT particular post.

How do you come up with that? Some of the posts are much deeper then others. Some are very sad or bad things have happened. If someone pours their heart out to us we need to think a little to help them. That is what I think anyway. It could be that we don't read many of the same posts. :)

Hi missak, it depends upon discussion to discussion. like if i have cliked on my interst and chosen cooking, then it will not take lot of time to think. because discussion related to cooking never takes much of my time ever. i love to answer them. but if the discussion s related to life or in general opinion or regarding any problem of any person, which he or she is sharing with us, then it takes me time. some times a day tooo. but never a month, if i remember it correctly. i dont go and respond to any discussion. i answer only to discussions which are of my interest, which i feel i can respond properly, i mean giving them justice is the thing. there is no point i think, to just answer for the heck of answering it.

Most of the time I usually know what I want to say right away. If I don't, then I will probably just skip that topic. When I see some of the ones that I skipped, later on, when I am in a different mood, I may post a reply.

Certainly there are some posts that require more thought in answering, but I seldom take as long as a week or even a couple of days to answer. I just leave it for a little while, a few hours at most, then come back to it. Sometimes I will go to my list of friends and pull up old discussions and respond to them. I usually do that when there isn't anything current that appeals to me.

It took me around several minutes to quote my best response. Sometimes a short sentence may do for me. No wonder I earn too slow. But I suddenly developed this skill when everyone was into earnings. The purpose mainly here to earn more and post more. I do simple replies yet sensible and straight-forward.

It depends upon the topic. If the topic is simplier, then you can post the answer quickly without thinking it for a long time, but if it's a little bit serious, then you need to spend more time thinking about it.
