How did people spend their 4th?

I went over to a co-workers in Staten Island for a barbeque. He just recently got married and he has a beautiful apartment. One level is the kitchen and living room. Then there is a spiral staircase up to the bedroom where there is a balcony overlooking downstairs, from there is a spiral staircase to the roof. We watched the fireworks from up there.

You sound like you had a good time. We spend it at home and enjoyed the time together. I usually work nights and hubby works days and so the kids and us adults decided what was on the menu and watched some fireworks from our porch and saw some too on the cable channels. A nice relaxing day except for worrying about possible fires due to fireworks since it is very dry around here. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Sounds like you had a very nice 4th. Mother nature decided to join us for the 4th so that ruined out barbeque and homemade ice cream making. My husband got called out to work for a while. We were able to go watch fireworks last night since there was a break in the rain. They were beautiful and our grandson loved them, I did too.

Oh sorry, but we were not able to make the home made icecream because of the rains and storms BUT when we do you are more than welcome to come join us. I am in south Texas. I will let you know. Have a great weekend.

It was really hot because of the heat wave hitting us here on the West Coast, so most of our activities involved staying indoors. My wife and I went to the movies early in the morning to see the 11:00 AM showing of Transformers, then we stayed in the mall that the theater is at and walked around for a bit before entering Dave and Busters. We had dinner and played video games for a while before it cooled down. We ended the day heading over to a friend's place for his BBQ and having dinner there and hanging out before heading home.

I did some research and writing and then spent 5 hours cleaning carpet in the living room (steam clean). No one else was home for most of the time so was good time to do it. 16 year old came home and he actually helped by running the thing over the carpet again to suck up as much moisture as possible - I was greatful because my back was killing me.

Well that sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate your independance day! I didn't do much but then we don't celebrate it in Scotland - I spent a lot of time wishing my american friends a happy 4th of July! xxx

My 4th was kind of good I guess. We had a get together with some family & friends. All together we spent over $700 on fireworks so we had a great show. Then after they all left I sent my niece (lives with me) to my moms for the night & we got a little drunk. Then on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday we went to differant friends houst to watch fireworks. Needless to say, after that many nights of them, I was tired of seeing them. My niece sure did love them though!

Well, it does sound like you have so much fun then. We were driving back from Iowa for my daughter's first birthday. But, we did see fireworks when we passed by downtown. So, we didn't miss out on that one.

Oh funny you should ask. We went over my cousins and had lots to eat and drink. Then later at night it rained. So our fireworks got cancelled. Oh well thats life.Hahahahahah

My fourth was pretty boring actually. I had to work for four hours so I didn't get to see any pretty fireworks except those that were finishing up as I was leaving for work (as I still was working third shift at the time). Glad you got to have a great time though :)

I'll bet that view was exciting. It rained most of the day here in Houston. It subsided just in time for the "Freedom Over Texas" show which included country stars Montgomery Gentry and the nations biggest land based fireworks show. About 100,000 people attended it and it was on tv. We stayed home and watched it.
