part of the Tao Te Ching #64 says:
"A tree that reaches past your embrace grows from one small seed,
A structure over 9 stories high begins with a handful of dirt
A journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step"
IMO one of the toughest journeys we can make is the journey inward to our true selves....Now not everyone has or will do this in their lives..some ppl are happy to NOT do it actually simply because its frightening to them (and believe me its frightening to do/put into action)....HOWEVER some of us have or plan to make that journey or maybe are on the road right now.....So my question is this
When, How and Why did you take that first step? When, How and why did you decide to make that long tough journey to your true self?
if you HAVENT done it - do you ever intend to? why or why not?

Humm...I guess my first step was asking questions about the accepted religion or the beliefs that was instilled upon me from a very early age. After asking the questions it would have to be having the courage (and the encouragement from my hubby) to really open myself up to new ideas and beliefs.
Of course I'm still on the journey - and I think it will be a continuous journey throughout my entire life.
When was I suppose since I said asking questions would have been when I was a junior in high school. And why would be because a lot of things didn't feel right to me and I wanted to find something that did. And in doing that I begin to find my true self.
Did any of that make a lick of sense?

Hmmm... a tough question. But I'll try answering it. For me it is quite difficult to discover myself. What am I truly passionate about? What am I skilled the most. What am I capable of? These things have been playing in my mind until now and each new day is a new discovery. I haven't stopped learning a new me with each new day. So I guess the first step is always in a new day.

Try as I might I cannot think of an answer to this question. For the past several years I've been aware thay I'm on a journey but I constantly feel terribly lost. All my life I've felt as if I don't belong anywhere and once or twice in my life when I've made a big change I've felt as though I've "come home". But it was not to be.
Do you have a plan? How did you formulate it if you do?
I'm finding a lot of comfort and understanding in the friendships I've made here and that is helping me be more positive about myself.
