If you find yourself wanting to write but can seem to get the start you want then perhaps this page will help you.
I created a squidoo lens recently that has links to several writing sites, prompt pages and story and poetry contests etc.
http://www.squidoo.com/reading-n-writing/
Or if you're interested in writing articles, whether it's to market your own website or to submit for payment etc perhaps some of the tips found on this lens will be useful for you.

So if, like me, you get sick of staring at a blinking cursor hopefully something on those pages will catch your attention and you can get your creative juices flowing :-)

re08dz: Thank you for such a vast array of information and fantastic links!
Since my son was born I've forgotten how to write basically. I used to be an avid reader, and a dedicated and passionate writer- striving for the next Great Australian Novel (next stop the world) but nowadays gone are the flittering and fluttering flashes of inspiration, replaced by mundane thoughts of sterilising bottles, nappy stocks and family meal plans.
I keep telling my partner I feel like I've lost myself. The individual part of myself that makes me, me. If you get what I mean.
After reading through reading-n-writing and taking a glance at some of the links I feel inspired and motivated to try and write again.
Who knows, maybe my creativity has dissolved, forever lost in my mushy pregnancy brain.... but maybe, just maybe, something lies lurking beaneath the surface, waiting to be refound and revived.

Thanks mate, not too bad. Still have the last little triplet going strong... it's my lil fighter :) but I have just got back out of hospital as my bladder has prolapsed and I need to have surgery (as soon as bubby is born of course, and the surgery means a hysterectomy- so lots of fun... I'll be 22 and running on empty) My brother has had all sorts of drama and was "committed" but has been released and is now on medication and stuff so hopefully he gets better.
Things are messy at the moment.
Hence why I want to get back to the writing- it's always been great cheap therapy for me.
How's life treating you?

Hey, glad to hear s/he's okay - gonna be a handful once born I reckon - already showing signs of being tough and stubborn :-) Sorry to hear about your need for surgery and your brother (hope the treatment/meds etc work okay for him) you've certainly had a bad run lately. Hopefully though it's smooth sailing from here on in.
As for me - it's cold and it's school holidays :-) so I'm sitting here huddled up to my computer (I've run out of wood for the fire at the moment)and listening to my kids fight.

Hey,
I often feel like that - there are times when I'd like nothing more than to be able to sit down and work on another short story etc but I can never get started - or on the off chance that my fingers do start moving across the keyboard that's when my kids decide they need my attention NOW :-)
The thing I've learnt though is that the creativity is always there, you just need a kick to get it started. Whether that means start by putting your general feelings to paper and seeing what develops or taking one moment in your day and making a story out of it etc. It's there, it's just a matter of finding that time for yourself.
If you get the chance have a wander through the sites like writing.com there's plenty of ways to get your creative juices flowing there (along with heaps of stuff to read :-) )
PS - it's good to see you around again - how's things going?

Hello, Re08dz! Thank you very much for sharing your websites with us. I am looking for a website that would pay me for my writing, but I can't seem to find any. The ones I find are not good, they are way too complex. I need a simple website, one that is like: Writing, being reviewed, being paid. Something easy as that.
I hope to find what I'm looking for in your links. Thank you very much.

Hi,
I'm not sure if you'll find anything like what you're looking for there. There are places like Associated Content and Helium etc that apparently pay you for your writing. Some of what is listed on my lens are more along the lines of writing contests etc.
Have you thought about setting up your own blog or website for your writing and then adding some income streams to it? It may take a little longer to set up but you're building a long term passive income when you do (rather than either a one off payment or a percentage of what the sites you submit to earn etc)

I know how to set my blog and stuff, but how can I earn with it? I mean, I think I'd have to get a lot of people to visit it, right?

Hi, There's several ways you can earn from blogs or websites and yes you do need to get traffic, but there's plenty of free ways to do that too - particularly if you like writing ;-)
You can do it by marketing your site with articles (submit articles to the free article directories) you can read more about it here http://www.squidoo.com/article-writing-marketing/
Or a few other tips to getting free traffic can be found here
http://www.squidoo.com/downline-builders/
In fact you can use things like Squidoo to promote your blog if you want :-) http://www.squidoo.com/guide-to-blogging/
