Wackos with AIDS

There has been a lot of talk about AIDS. Some people think AIDS started in the 80s, and blame it all on Prs. Reagan. Others say that it started earlier, there just wasn't a name for it yet.
Well, in this 40th Anniversary of the "Summer of Love", I've decided that AIDS was born the minute someone decided that Socialism is a good idea.
What does AIDS have to do with Socialism? EVERYTHING!
Now, before you go off all half cocked, telling me that AIDS is a terrible malady that destroys lives and kills people... I'll agree with you. AIDS is probably more deadly than any of us can imagine. I would go so far as to say that most unintentional deaths of human beings is due to AIDS.
Yes folks, Acquired Intelligence Deficite Syndrome is a devastating disease. It has taken hold in our public educations system (they call it Zero Tolerance). It has become the main reason people vote for one candidate over the other ("because Jon Stewart said..."). It has even taken its toll on the candidates themselves (I celebrated Christmas with Buddhists, was the inspiration for Love Story, and was named after Sir Edmund Hillary).
Today we witnessed a couple of shining examples of AIDS in our "leaders". A series of 9 concerts were held to "save the planet". Kind of a Greenstock. I wonder how much energy is being spent planning, travelling to, and holding this electrifying event?
Today I heard Rep. Charlie Rangel (15th District) talking about taxes. First he said that tax increases are good for the nation because they bring more money into the federal budget. The host pointed out that, because of the tax cuts, there is more money in the federal coffers than ever before. Rangel said that that tax cut only helped "The Rich". Apparenlty AIDS has prevented the good Congressman from seeing his own irony. ;~D
So folks, it's time we find a cure for AIDS. We should be looking to the education system... but well, like they say, if you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem. ;~D

Maybe if we had Zero Tolerance for idiots running our school systems and government, there wouldn't be an AIDS problem.

yeah a zero tollerence of all those who see the answer as going back to things would work much better

Ok, Eskarena1, I'll play your silly little game. Tell me how any of these "new" and "improved" methods are working? Milwaukee likes their new methods... and they brag that they finally raised the literacy rate at their high schools to 3 out of 5 students.

Boy what a curve ball. I thought we were going to talk about the AIDS virus, but after reading I realized what you were really talking about. You are talking about the Dem voter. Dems own the idiot voter block. I have always wondered if liberalism was a mental illness, but you proved that it is! Give yourself a pat on the back ParaTed you deserve it ;~D.

Thnx, I'll give myself a pat on the back... but only after I put on a rubber (glove). I may have shaken hands with AIDS victims and wouldn't want to pat myself with dirty digits. ;~D

You mean the past where a high school graduate was actually ready for freshman level college classes? A dark past where we actually learned math THEN learned to use calculators? That terrible past where we could let our kids go play, unsupervised?
Or are you talking about the past where we had double digit inflation, unemployment rates and prime lending rates... because of government interference gone haywire.

Don't forget to be wary of HIV, "Higher Intellectual Vanity". It strikes many people with ugly symptoms, like imagining yourself superior to people because they disagree with you, and you just KNOW you're right!
Other classic HIV symptoms:
Intolerance of others who don't acknowledge your superiority, disparaging of alternative political views, ignoring the inner workings of large problems by pulling sound bites out of them, thinking one is the solution while severly exacerbating the problem.
If you know of any lasting solutions to major issues arrived at by the different sides calling each other stupid, please let me know. I can't think of any.
Very creative presentation, nicely done!
ps I think AIDS came here with the rock that wiped out the dinosaurs!

Higher Intellectual Vanity! Awesome addition! Don a rubber (glove) yourself and go to town! ;~D
Btw, Rock may have brought us AIDS, but we know from Melissa Etheridge, Elton John and Madonna that it will be Rock that saves us from it also.
IF YOU WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD, JUMP UP AND DOWN!!! :~D

ParaTed2k, we'll get rid of AIDS in the US when we get the nobody left behind stuff out of our school. My son struggles with reading even with me helping him at home. I have asked the school to hold him back. Guess what their answer was, I was told no because of the nobody left behind stuff. It is just another excuse to pass children on not caring if they are learning or not.

Ah yes, the Federal Government's attempt to prove that since they can't read the U.S. Constitution, your child shouldn't have to read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!
Don't worry about your son, Juanamomoof5, if he never learns to read, he has a bright future in the House, the Senate, or (if he's really lucky) as Ruth "Buzzi" Binsberg! ;~D

PS... my guess though is he just hasn't found anything that fires him up to want to read yet.

He really tries but he inverts letter and numbers. His teacher thinks he might be dislexic, but the school district doesn't recognize dislexia as a learning disability so they don't test for it. I'm trying to figure out how to get the testing done. Like you said if he doesn't learn to read I'll turn him into a polotician. LOL
