Telephone Etiquette, What Are Your Pet Peeves?

1. I do not like it when someone answers their phone while still speaking to someone else in the room. 2. I do not like it when people yell at their children while talking on the phone. 3. I do not like it when people are eating while talking on the phone. If you are eating, call me back when you are done. 4. I do not like it when the television or stereo is blaring in the background. This tells me that more than likely you are not listening to me. 5. I do not like to be put on hold and forgot about. 6. I do not like to be called collect, without my permission. 7. I do not like when people use my phone without permission. 8. I do not like when people are talking to others on my answering machine. 9. I do not like it when people allow their children to laugh, play, cry, or be in any way disruptive, unless it is an emergency, while they are talking to me. 10. I don't like it when parents put their kids who can't yet talk on the phone and tell them to say hi to me and all I can hear is heavy breathing for like five minutes. 11. I don't like it when I say that I am ready to get off the phone and people keep talking like they do not hear me. 12. I hate when people call me and have nothing to say, but expect me to carry the conversation. I love to talk on the phone. I always have, but a phone conversation is never enjoyable if people don't adhere to proper etiquette. I know that there are so many more, but I can only think of a few more. But I will let you guys share what bothers you, is there anything?
