In my country, the politicians need peasants only during an election-infact most rural areas are visited by dignitaries in government once every five years when they are seeking votes. There is usually a sharp difference between urban population and the rural populaton in terms of social amenities like water, electricity, medicare etc,yet the business of toiling to feed the country lies squarely with the peasants. It is the highest degree of political hypocricy you can magine!
