Safe Haven for Newborns

Many states now have programs to prevent abandonment of newborn babies 72 hours of age or younger. A mother or legal guardian may drop off a baby 72 hours of age or younger, at a designated safe place, usually a fire department, police station, or hospital. Has this program helped to stop or lower abandoned babies in your community? Does your community have this problem?
