Seriously, Barf! is a laundry detergent in Kyrgyzstan. It smells real nice.:) I know it's a weird product name but it draws attention right? What's the strangest product name you've used?

Is English so commonly understood there that they get the humor? I notice the box is in English, at least what I could make out, "Detergent Powder." Are many of their products in English? Anyway it certainly is an attention getting discussion title.

English is almost unheard of there. University students may speak it, but even then it's just not a widely known language. They have a few products in English but usually Russian is right next to it as well. I don't really know why they even have products in English...about the only English speaking people there are on the American base there.

You know, I never really asked if Barf meant something in Russian or Kyrgyz. Those are the two main languages there. That's a good question! Kyrgyzstan is located south of Kahzakstan (did I spell that right?) and directly west of China, it borders it. It was part of the Soviet Union until that fell. I spent a few months there in 2002 - 2003. Barf was one of the many fun products there. They also had a laundry detergent called Pride. And a snack food called Pillows and they were great! I miss them, ha! :)

if in your place you have this strange detergent that smells nice..in my place i had once used a soap to clean my refrigerator, and in the package itself it says that it is only for cleaning refrigerators...or have you heard of a bath soap that is both for humans and pet dogs?
