What is your opinion of the Ninetendo Wii?

Our Christmas present this year is going to be for the whole family and we have decided to buy the Nintendo Wii(if we can find one). But I thought I would get some opinions from anyone who has purchased one or just played a game on it. Its not the price of the console but if its kid friendly and fun to play. My kids are into the games so I wasnt sure if there were any good games for the Wii. So if anyone has a opinion whether its good or bad please let me know.
