How do you keep a cut from becoming a scar?

When I was a kid, I was very accident prone and now have several major scars on my hands and fingers as a permanant reminder. I'm worried that my daughter will follow in my very clumsy foot steps. How can I prevent minor cuts from becoming permanant scars?

I always use neosporin. It really works for me! It heals up cuts in no time! I hope this helps!

Thanks so much JoleneGreen! I had heard of this stuff before, I think, but didn't know that it worked so fast. The other day I stuck my finger into a lipstick tube to clean it out, (don't ask why!) and the stupid thing left a one half inch round cut mark on my middle finger. Now, it hurts whenever I type. We have cats, so I am always worried about cat germs getting into my cuts or my little girl's cuts. Thanks again! Drop by anytime. I love chatting with you.

Mederma ia a great product and is sold at most CVS, WALGREENS, type stores for about $15.00 and is a must have when you have kids. It works great and when we were kids they didn't have this kinda stuff available to the general public which is why it isn't widely known and talked about yet.
Hope that helps
