How often do you cleanup the interior of your car?

Every weekend, I see people washing their cars at the carpark downstairs. Most of the time, I see them washing only the exterior including the tyres. Seldom do I see people spend time on the interior. Occasionally one or two does do it. When I mean the interior of the car, I mean taking out the mats, washing the mats and vacuum the interior. Opening the doors and airing it not counted :P Last time, when I was driving the company's van, I vacuum the interior every two weeks. I just cannot stand the mat and interior being dirty but I cannot afford the time to do it weekly. I am more ashamed my passengers will comment on how dirty the car is. Friends, how often do you wash the interior of your car? Is there a need to wash it every week? Or you wash it every month? Or ? As a passenger, do you really observe the interior of the car, whether the mat is dirty or not? Will you tell the driver that the interior needs cleaning up?

We have the same interest my friend, car. I usually clean the interior of my car whenever I see the need for it. Right now I'm doing it as often as I can because it's been a rainy season here in my country. I also put some plastic cover (black thrash bag) on the carpet floor of the car to easily clean it and also the mud would not stick on the carpet of the car. But usually during summer I just clean it every two weeks or 1 month span. I don't care what my passenger would say about my car but I just can't stand it looking dirty in and out myself.

That's a good idea to put plastic cover, Tholitz. I tried putting cardboard but the cardboard just get kicked off by whoever gets into the van. LOL.

i don't have a car. But if I did, I'd clean it once a month. heh. esp if only i use it and i try to keep the mat clean. I know people who prob never clean the interior. as a passenger I usually think some amount of dirt is natural. no comments to the driver on their cleanliness level. but i know friends who are very particular. they will clean their mats very often. but these folks are usually girls, and usually very proud of their baby car.

I don't clean mine nearly enough. It seems after doing everything else I am required to do as a full time working mother and wife, my car is always last on the list.

I’m a bit busy and I’m also the type of person that don’t take too much care on my car lol … So I only cleanup the interior of my car when necessary or when someone who is a bit picky is going to have a ride on my car especially my sister in law hahaha…. During rainy season or going to the beach I usually place some newspapers inside my car. This is to prevent my car mats from getting wet or dirtied by the sand. Throw away the dirtied newspapers is easier than cleaning up or wash the rubber mats lol ...

My car tends to get messy very fast. I have 3 children that love to mess everything up. I am not always that neat of a person. I think it's hard to bring all of the stuff out of the car, when you're trying to herd all you kids in the door, and carry groceries, and whatever. My husband just happens to be a manager at a car wash. Needless to say, my car stays very clean. He will take it to work with him to clean out our mess, just about every week. he will vacuum, clean, armour-all, do the windows. he details it very well. I'm lucky that I have him (should say my car is lucky), because otherwise it would be a mess.

hi i myself is very detailed about cleaning my interior side of the car than exterior. i do it once a week. same as exterior cleaning. the characteristic of your car's interior describes the owner who they are . and i see to it that it smell good and i dont allow smokers to be smoking inside my car. Good thing i am not smoking , so as far as cleaning my car is concern i gave double time in cleaning my interior.

You must have spent hours on it every week. Isn't it time consuming.

I don't clean the car as often as I should really, and when I do it's usually just the exterior. I know I should clean up the car more often but I do keep a barrier bag in the back for rubbish so it doesn't have to be a hard job to tidy the car. I feel guilty now for not cleaning the car more often :-)

Not very often. Since I am the only one using my car, all I clean is the driver's seat, the mats, etc. These days since it's always raining, I bring my car to the cleaning shop once a month or twice...otherwise, should be twice a month only...car wash plus interior vacuuming...yes, I like cars which are clean from the inside...even the air freshener should be subdued..I feel dizzy when its odor is strong...

I clean my car when the mcdonald's bags and fries and soda cans, candy wrappers start falling out each time we open the doors....just kidding. I know what you mean about the matts and dirt. I can't afford to vaccum it out often. I do have one of those little portable vacs....that helps somewhat. I really don't go thru it often enough. As a passenger? Unless a car is really gross, I do not pay attention to a little clutter.

I used to take good care of my car when I first got it new but not so much lately. I think it has been over a month since I have cleaned it last. I will get to it eventually.

I cant stand to have a dirty car.But 2 children keep me busy so me and my husband try to clean it out once a week and clean the outside at the carwash. The longest we have went is 2 weeks.Since we have to get are van repaired. But my dad on the other hand has to have his cars cleaned every week.I remember when I used to live with my dad and he would clean my car out sometimes. He used to work as a detailer.I miss the times when he would clean out my car.But now he cleans my sisters car out.

I do a quick pickup in the inside but I don't really vaccum it up maybe once a month or every other month. I keep a little garbage bag in the car so that way trash gets in there so I don't have so much to pick up.
