Remembering things from before birth?

This is probably going to sound strange but this was really what my oldest son and I talked about earlier tonight.
I was teasing him that if he had been born on time it would have been his birthday today (the 8th) but now he has to wait until Friday because he was born late instead. He asked why he was late and I told him that I didn't know but I guessed he just wasn't quite ready yet.
That's when he said the strangest thing, but with so much sincerity...he said that he remembers before he was born because he was all warm and curled up and happy...
I looked at him completely shocked and questioned him more and he insisted that he really does remember things from before he was born. He isn't one to lie or make up things and I could tell by looking at him that he really believed in what he was saying. This child and I have ALWAYS had a very close bond and connection that I have never been able to explain. He will be 9 on his birthday and after talking to him, I believe he really does have these pre-birth memories....as crazy as it might seem lol.
So my question is...Have any of you ever heard of this or experienced it yourself? I'd love to know that my son isn't the only one!

I've never heard that before. Last I heard a study was just done and said that doctors think people can remember back as early as 12 months old. But of course no study covers every living person in the world. That would be amazing if he really could remember. Wow. I'm not sure I would want to remember because then I'd remember the actual birth too, aggh!

I can definitely believe that about remembering back to 12 months because he has in the past mentioned things that occurred when he was that young. I also remember him talking about the house we moved out of when he was only 5 months old which is part of what makes our conversation that much more believable.
He has always been amazing so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. That study sounds interesting, I'd like to read more about it and you're right that they can't cover every single person. Thanks!
