A teacher or a computer? The turn of the 21st Century has brought many changes. Everything is now done with the help of a computer. Computers are replacing people in factories and banks. But can they replace teachers? WHAT DO U THINK......????

Computers could never really replace good teachers. computers are only as good as those typing into them. I come from a family of teachers. Nothing can replace a passionate and dedicated teacher...certainly not a machine. Computers are a very valuable learning too but let's pray they never overtake the classroom. Computers can not offer up advice and guidance and wonderful memories of inspiration.

The computers can only be a supplement in the absence of a teacher. The teacher has to feed the material into the computer. The computer cannot do it on its own.

I highly doubt it can replace teachers but people need to use computers. True, it does make things easier but I really don't see how a computer could replace a teacher. I would probably not look into that happening so much. There are still people who work at banks and it just makes them easier. What would happen say a computer is going haywire and no one knows what to do? That's just something to think about on that. I guess what I'm saying is a computer won't be able to replace a teacher due to the fact of having interaction with the teacher when it comes to asking questions and such. I don't think you want to take that away exactly. That's just what I think on the whole thing. Hopefully it makes sense.

rightly said buddy........ The method of teaching, the relationship between the teacher and the student go a long way in moulding the future of any student. This the computer cannot do.

Computers are not smart enough to replace teachers. Maybe one day they might be able to teach a class. At best, they are only a tool and should not be given authority over a classroom.

Nah, I don't think it will totally replace teachers even in years to come. Although computers are really helpful and a very necessary aid in education it cannot, however, replace the role of the teacher. If you are a parent would you solely entrust your child's education to a computer? I'm sure that even if your child was educated through a computer, you would still find a human to teach your child things that can never be taught by the computer. Despite this fact, I would also admit that a lot of teachers would be displaced because of the presence of computers. Less teachers would be needed but not totally replaced. Computers are mere aids to educators, they cannot be main educators.

i completely agree with u........ Teachers play an important role in shaping one's character. Virtual learning cannot replace a good teacher.

First, you need a teacher to teach things about computers...and then perhaps computers only serve as a tool that will help students to elaborate further their studies. But thought e-learning is effective for some, but most students still need the guidance of someone (not a computer) to help through...specially in molding their character, behavior and attitude towards learning. TEachers are also necessary in developing the materials needed for learning and also for evaluating the progress of the students though the lessons may be delivered through computers.

I don't think that anything can replace a good teacher. There are some I'd like to replace...but with other and better teachers. Someone who loves and cares for their students and want to see them learn, can never be replaced by a machine. We are after all, raising children, not robots.

Maybe with some things but not in all aspects of education. Teachers are still important I think even in the centuries to come.
