My dad works abroad until this time for 20 yrs. He left when I was 12. now I'm 32....We usually fear our father being t0 strict and hot tempered but as the saying goes "time changes everything".Now, I can say that he is one of the most patient, understanding and openminded father i know... Yes I can tell straight to my dad what I feel even at this age...I even shed tears over an overseas call expressing my heartaches and problems....It's good to know that he cares to listen... try it and feel secure.....

I was like ten years old that I hated my father. I had to take it back because my stepmother told me to, but I hated him until I left home at 15. I don't talk to him or anything. I just don't care about him.

Find it in your heart, "forgiveness" we may be of different culture, beliefs and principles in life.. we may be of different race but one thing for sure we both have our parents that is entitled of our respect.... Maybe what lacks you both is communication so he will understand...I am not in the position to just your character nor to dictate you what i believe is right but think of it... Someday or maybe now you already have your family and you want it to be a good one. then why not open your heart.... there's no harm if you will try

Also knowing what he is capable of, I wouldn't give him the pleasure to doing the same to my children. They are better off not knowing him.
