I really stepped way outside my comfort zone.

This past Saturday I really stepped way outside my comfort zone. My husband and I participated with a church group on a high ropes course. There where several telephone poles you would start out on a ladder then you would use these tacks to climb up the rest of the pole. The first platform is at 25 feet. You are clipped in with a rope and harness, so you can fall but you wont fall all the way. Let me tell you the climb up was the worst part. You have a partner check all you do so everyone is safe. You never unclip without being attached to something. So I felt very safe up there. they have different things that you walk across like steps, wires, lilly pads, ropes, beams. It was very cool and very fun. I do not have a real bad fear of being up high, but I don't feel all that comfy about it either. I really think that I grew that day I felt very brave. We also did this swing I loved the swing. Then we did this zip line I have to say that jumping off that platform was the hardest thing I ever did that day. It was something new that is for sure and you can learn a lot about your self when you step out of your comfort zone. The place that operates the high ropes course is a religions organization. We talked about having faith before we started, and after we talked about it. And I said that I had total faith in those ropes that they would hold me and I could see that rope. Having faith in God comes from inside because it is a lot harder to see those ropes. They're there, but you cant see them. I think a lot of people today live by sight not faith. Thanks for letting me share you experience with you. If you ever have the chance you should try it!

Oh you are a very brave woman !! All the faith in the world wouldn't get me to do it. You see I would think, God may try, but that rope isn't going to hold this big old behind !! LOL I have a thing with ropes and such being able to hold me. I am glad you got to experience something new, and had a great time. It is wonderful to be able to experience that feeling. My new experience would have to be something solid though..lol. I don't mind heights at all. Just something solid and sturdy to make sure I am held up is all. :)

Well it did help because she told us those ropes would hold 5,000 pounds. Would that help you to feel any better about it?

Good for you for trying something new, and completing it!!! It sounds fun and scary! I think doing that would be awesome, but I'm sure once I got up there I might change my tune. I agree it's a great experience to go through. I'm so glad you shared with all of us. It is hard to live by faith, especially when things aren't going our way. Or course when things are going our way, who do we usually credit...ourselves instead of God. Faith is a hard thing sometimes, but as long as we are stiving towards it, we won't lose.
