Gay Marriages- For or Against?

I don't know why it is looked down in society so much, but I am personally not against gay marriages. As the saying goes- love conquers all! They were born with freedom, why restrict who they can marry? They can do what they want with their lives. Born gay is just like being born a different skin color, or a different race in your society. You can't help it, you can't change it, so why is it so looked down upon. I know there's the bible and all but, it's not the bible that runs the country, it's the government. And the government would just be corrupt being run by the bible. Here in New Zealand, we are not allowed Gay Marriages, but we allow Civil Unions- which are the same as marriages- with privileges and all.

I think gay marriages should be allowed because, whether or not you believe in God, a great friend of mine whom i sadly dont speak to anymore made me believe in god- for a short time, but not anymore. But what he taught me was - God gave us free will to do what we like, we choose to believe in him, then we do, if we dont, then we dont, he also must have given us free will to find the same gender attractive. Otherwise it wouldnt happen. For me, everything you do is a sin, I dont know, i dont believe that stuff. But where you have free will, you should beable to.

I am for gay marriage. The reason is because i have those in my family. I am not going to turn my back on family members. Plus it is the person decision to do it or not. If they can be happy then go for it because no one happiness is more important. I think the government should allow it if it is not causing any problems to the society.

Oh this is such a sensitive issue, but I can't hide my opinion for fear of other people: I don't support them because I think whatever the theories might be, they promote abnormality in the society. I mean, admit it, more and more people are becoming gay since support for it has started increasing. Try to suppress it and the number of gay people will plummet to an insignificant minority. That's my opinion.

I really think your statement is very wrong. Why would the number of gay people plummet if gay marrage is not allowed. My friend you need to look around, gays are not as an insignificant minority as you thank we are. We are here and we are growning in numbers. You dont became gay btw, you just come out. Every gay male or female was gay from birth not by choice. I will tell you that my relationship of 8 years is stronger then most stright relationships. You want more information, I think you should watch the move "Gay in America". We have been around ever sense time started and will be here to the end. And you want to know something funny. The will not allow gays in the military. That is Bush for you, sending all the straight men and woman out to die. When a gay male or female and do the job just as good if not better. Look at all the anger some gays have built up because of being held back as americans. God Bless our Military men and women, may they come home safe.

There's no good reason to restrict gay marriage. People opposed to it like to say that marriage is a union of one man and one woman. Similar logic has been used in the past when it came to restricting marriage: marriage could only be between members of the same race or social status. It's old fashioned thinking like this which causes problems and prevents social progress - not tolerating the idea of giving equal right to minorities. I'm fully in favor of gay marriage, as long as they're civil marriages. Regarding marriage in churches: that must be up to the church, and I'd protest any attempt to force a church to marry a couple.

Who is asking you to accept homesexuality? It is funny how people spend all thair time worried about someone elses relationships when they should be worried about his/her own.

I am for gay marrage no matter where your from. If two people love each other, they they should be allowed to be married. Love is love no matter what form it takes. Be it between male and female, female and female or men and man. Who are we to say it is night right?

i would suppose it's easier for me to respond that i am not against it if i would consider the legal benefits the couple can get out of the legal union, and not concerning myself with morality or religious issues.

Here in my country it's something that many find un-acceptable. I hope that someday people will accept and respect gays and homosexuals for what they decide for themselves. They are human beings too just like everybody else.

Im all for gay marriages as well, why should they be treated any different from a heterosexual couple. In todays soceity you would think homosexuals would be able to live life as any other person but they cant..this is 2007 not 1900 people just need to be more open minded towards people who are gay. I believe they should be able to marry and have the same rights as someone who isnt gay.

I am for gay marriages. I have friends both female and male who are gays. In fact, quite a number of them are. They are in fact very nice people. I think its just they have different likings. They make really good friends and I think they are not abnormal.
