Last night my hubby was going to make french fries. He put the pot of grease on the stove and heated it up. Thats fine, so far so good... Then he opened the bag of french fries, and POURED them in to the hot grease. Needless to say, grease splashed onto the burner and flames shot up to the roof! I'm lucky I still have a house!!!! He got the burner of, got the flames out, then turned another burner on and put the pot, with grease on the bottom of it, on the new hot burner. Once again flames shot up, not as high, but still. I turned off the burner, the flames went out, and I sent my hubby out of the kitchen. I told him to go outside, and start a fire out there! Oh goodness, what will I do with my redneck hubby. lol

OMG! That's crazy but a little funny that he did it again after that had already happened. Tell him that he's banned from the kitchen forever if he doesn't learn how to cook right. lol

At least he tried to make something. Some men don't even do that they wait for their wifes to make it or they ask them to make it... I give him alot of credit for even trying though he did start a fire lol...

Thats true, my hubby really does do a lot for me. I am very grateful for him helping out with house hold chores, but I'd really like to keep my house standing, not burnt down! lol, oh boy, I gotta love him!

You should have told him to follow the directions. All he had to do was to heat the oven and put the french fries on a cookie tray. They are already half cooked. I guess he forgot to look at the package. Lucky you got the fire out! That must have been very scary!

I guess he did not read the directions about putting them on a tray in the oven because they are partially cooked. At least my husband does not do that. It was a good thing you were there at the time or there might have been no house and no husband. You do have your work cut out for you, don't you?

I'm sorry for your um, culinary challenged hubby. Oh the poor guy, just was hungry, that's all. LOL! I did need that laugh today, though. I feel bad that it's at his expense. Thanks for sharing!!!

Lol, I joke with him, and tell all my friends that I keep him around for entertainment. There is never a dull moment in my house, and I end up laughing at him just about everyday.

lol, yes I really think I do. He can cook some things, and the things he cooks is really good. French fries just happens to NOT be one of those things.

I will tell you what you do with your rednec hubby. Always have a fire extinguisher handy. I am glad that the fire didn't spread, that would have been horrible.

Well, I am so glad that you still have a house and he probably shouldn't be allowed in the kitchen anyways. I am glad that I am blessed with a man that cooks without setting anything on fire. Good luck to you regardless.
