why there are so much scams...

i received an email that told me they will deposit $500 in my account because my email address won and that i played on their yahoo games..it was from yahoo..i clicjed it and learned im not a premium member so i signed in with $8.75 membership fee...It says after signing up as premium member, they will automatically send the $500 in my e-gold account..And to my great dismay and disappointment, when i clicked again the linked, it says im not a premium member well in fact i already paid them..What a waste of money...and that $8.75 is a hard-earned money on my part. i blame myself for believing on those scams...
