The word Christian means a person who is loyal and follows a great leader who is named Christ, hence the term. Meaning if you never followed the teachings and doctrines of Jesus Christ, you are never a Christian. This is in the same manner that a Muslim follows the teachings of the Islam religion. But in today's world, Christianity is becoming like a professing religion. We all claimed to be Christians but we never followed the Christ, we jsut follow ourselves. Are you Christian?

I disagree very slightly with your definition of "Christian" because I don't feel it quite covers everything. The people who followed Jesus at the time he was alive were, typically, anything but loyal. Peter, one of Jesus's disciples, denied three times that he knew him. Jesus knew their failings, and he loved them anyway - not only that but he put his church into their hands. Therefore there is no stipulation that a Christian must follow the teachings and doctrines of Jesus to the letter. The whole point of Christianity is that no one, not even the disciples themselves, is able to do that! Every Christian makes mistakes, whether they admit it or not; it doesn't make them any less Christian. But Christians regret their mistakes and *try* to do better because of their love for Jesus and their gratitude for what he did for them. To me, that's the true heart of Christianity.

Well i would say why does this happen. There two groups of Christians, the first are Christians by name but not by deeds, the second is Christians by life and deeds. A real, genuine, Christian is a person who is filled with Christ to the uttermost. Which means that there is nothing within himself which is not of Christ. The prerequisite to be filled with Christ is to deny the self, the soul life. Unless you cannot deny yourself Christ cannot fill you up. It is just like a cabinet filled with things. How would you place something in the cabinet if it is already full? So in order to be filled with Christ, Christians should empty themselves.
