What would you do if you saw someone slap their kid across the face very hard in public, or grab their hair and drag them. Would you speak up, or just ignore it. I had this happened to me, the kid was about 2 years old, and the mother slapped the kid so hard across the face it knocked her down. I went up to her and did the same thing right back to her , the cops were called, and the mother was going to be investigated.

i don't think i would have gotten involved. maybe the mother was just having a very bad day and lost control. its possible that this was an isolated incident and now for the rest of her life she will be looked at differently because she lost control one time. i guess i would have to see it too.

Thank you for responding back to my question. I mean when this woman went across this girls face, it knocked her to the floor, i mean like something adults would do fighting. It was God aful.

I dont think i would have taken such an action. I normally avoid moving in to other peoples personal affairs but at the most i would have asked or tried to explain that the child should not be treated in such a manner and needs much better treatment.

I would have gone up and slapped the mothers face too - might have knocked some sense into her. I hate seeing people hitting kids anyway and there's no way I would ignore it. It's good that the mother is being investigated but the truth is nothing is likely to happen to her. Too many people make excuses for behaviour like that nowadays.
