have you thought about writing? maybe writing poems, or just getting out your frustrations in a diary? I think you should try to find a therapist that knows about people having the desire to cut and try and get help.

I actually am an ex-cutter. I had a bad problem with it, and shamefully, still have the scars to prove it. I have since then been to a wonderful therapist and been placed on medication. My cutting was used to releive my emotional pain. With the cutting I could forget the emotional pain and instead, concentrate on the physical pain. Actually, I remember seeing the blood and feeling much more satisfied. It was a terrible thing for me to do, and once I realized I needed help, I sought out professionals. They are trained to help people find other ways to cope with emotions, and they can give you other means. I really suggest you seek out help, before you regret it. I will give you a few tips that I like to use. Whenever I am feeling the emotions coming on, I will go for a light jog, it really helps. Or, hell, I get on mylot! It really helps to take my mind off of other things. Plus, you can tell us how you are feeling, and we can try to help! I will say it again though, you should talk to a professional. They have really helped me. Good luck, and just stay strong.

Try yoga. If you have days that you really long for the physical pain then you could try pushing yourself even harder to hold a pose or maintain your balance. You have taken a big step by coming here and saying that. You do care enough about yourself to try and get help. I hope you will find what you need. If you would like to add me to your friends and PM, I can relate on some levels and would be glad to talk to you if you think it would help.
