I think the world is made for curvy and normal size people, because they get the most attention than the skinny people. People who think the world is made for skinny people may have a mental affect against big, curvy, and normal people. A few skinny people may want to look like them.

I don't believe the world was made for skinny people, but it doesn't like fat people all that much either. I wish we still lived in a time when it was fashionable to have a little meat on our bones.

I think the modern perception is that thinner people are more beautiful. In the old days larger was more well regarded in some countries as it likely meant you were stronger - especially the ladies - so could have more children and work harder. But nowadays so much is geared for smaller people. Look at clothes - here in Australia there must be a hundred clothes shops for the overly thin for every one shop that caters for over Aus size 14 (which is a US size 12?) Good topic.

For a long time clothing was geared for the skinny crowd. Now that is changing with more stores carrying larger sizes. The food industry is caterring to over eaters. Many people come to this country and cannot at first eat like we do. The seats in the planes have been for leaner folk. That too is changing and gone should be the days of buying two seats for a larger person. Our world is constantly changing and when something needs addressed we should be ready to do so.

I wrote a discussion not too long ago about the unrelenting pressure put on people to conform to a stereotype image. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/933973.aspx Media pressure places far too great an importance on shape and size but abdicates all responsibility for the trauma and misery this causes. The world is for everyone, regardless.

Unfortunately the world is made for skinny people. There are no stylish clothes made in large enough sizes, and in order to find clothes that fit, one must go to a "plus size" store, where the clothing is not stylish. It is not fair that to "look good" one must be skinny.
