i keep reading people posing questions about Christianity based on what one person is doing? Christianity is Christianity. a person's failure to practice the tenets of that particular religion does not the religion that. This is same for other religion as well. why is it so easy to blame the religion than the person?

well.. i believe that it doesnt really matters what kind of religion you have. all i know is that your religion doesnt speak for yourself.. its yourself who speak for yourself. religion is just an affiliation.. however, if you strong belief regarding your faith, your deeds should follow. but like i said, people are people, religion is religion. at the end of the day, what matters most is what you good thins you have done for yourself and other people, not what the religion has done to you.

yes thats is so true.a person is wholly responsible for his own action, and not blame anyone or any religion for his own short comings...and no one else judge him base on his affiliation.

If you happen to disbelieve a religion, it's a whole lot easier to pick a person who follows that religion and find all his faults and make it the example of that particular religion. If you want to question a religion, look at it's founder, not at the imperfect followers.

Christians having 2 wives cannot be blamed on Christianity because having 2 wives is not the logical outworking of the teaching of Christianity. But an atheist having 2 wives... well I think that's the result of having no 'moral law'. Is there any atheistic moral code that says an atheist can have only 1 wife? I wonder if atheism can lead to the breakdown of moral order in the society because there is no more moral that is binding upon them... or can the law of the nation take care of each aspect of our life so that we are guarded by the law of the land every moment? I think atheists are able to appeal to conscience so far in the West because their civilisation is not built upon an amoral order... if this persists there may be total civilisation collapse. Doesn't Samuel Hungtinton argue something like in his book The Clash of Civilisation and the Remaking of World Order. He didn't make a strong case for moral order in the society, but he made a passing remark. But there are other philosophers who have worked upon this though...

You are right that the individual does not represent the whole of any religion. Some people who ask questions out of a real desire to learn, but I think many of them are asked by people looking for an argument, or those who want to make fun of people who believe. Often these people seem to take a stand they consider of a superior moral view. There is the old saying sitting in a church pew doesn't make you a christian, just as standing in a garage doesn't make you a mechanic.

for some people, it is easy to blame God for everything that goes on. on the other hand, a person will balme a particular religion for an individual's actions is because they never did like that particular religion. some religion are based on religious wars. the just love to hate but how the practioneer of that particular religion goes about his life is entirely his own responsibility.
