Did you watch the wibledon finals. The main thing which seperated fedex and nadal was the ace.Federer was easily scoring most of his points through ace.He served an incredible 24 ace in the match compared to nadal's 1.Nadal was clueless while facing federer's ace.But nadal's rally was better of the two in the finals.

It was a great match worthy of a wimbledon finals. I read about it, but unfortunately didn't get to watch it. Federer's aces must have been his trump card over Nadal in this match. However, his 24 are still quite a distance off from the records of aces in matches of the past years. See this site http://www.tennis-x.com/stats/tennisrecords.php for the records and statistics associated with professional tennis. I remember in recent times, one player stood out for his booming services and aces scored, and he is Goran Ivanisevic from Croatia. He has retired from professional tennis, but during his prime, he was noted for his strong services, which I think is still the greatest to date.

yeah I too am a great fan of Goran Ivanisevic. The big built man was unfortunately in the era of pete sampras.I still can remember the wimbledon finals between pete and goran.Though Ivanisevic lost he gave a good fight to pete sampras.

Ah, Pete Sampras. He was one of those great tennis legends of modern tennis. He was a great athlete and feared competitor on the tennis courts.

I feel Federer was not only good at serving aces but his groundstrokes also suit the grasscourts compared to nadal who likes the ball bouncing on clay courts. To his credit Nadal hit lot of sizzling winners. Besides Fedex has won 5th consecutive wimbledon which is special feat. Fedex serves, volleys well and covers the court well too and has good match temperament which is stuff champions are made of.

yes his temperament was great. He doesnot show the pressure he is facing outside. This is one quality that makes pete and roger " all time greats"
