Did you know that not knowing you are pregnant until labor begins isnt as uncommon as we think? In fact according to this website I will site at the end of this you are 3 times more likely to go into labor never knowing you were pregnant than you are to have triplets? I thought this was a weird yet interesting article. Check it out. I didnt realize it was as common as it is. =) http://pregnancy.about.com/od/conditionscomplications/a/hiddenpregnancy.htm

I still can't get my head around someone not knowing they are pregnant. There are so many things going on in pregnancy that I don't see how you couldn't know. If you were in denial ok, but in the back of you mind you would know, right?

What about the movements. Early movements you can pass off as gas but the later movements you can't.

I guess in most cases, some of these I am sure are denial. But some women just do not get any symptoms and some have screwed up cycles as it is and may not think anything of it, ya know? That is what I am guessing.

yea, that I agree with it is easy to pass of as gas at first, I dont see how someone wouldnt feel the baby moving in the later stages either, I guess it would have to be denial. I dont know.

I have a friend who didn't realize she was pregnant until she was 26 weeks I believe(or should I say the doctors believe). She had a huge belly though. I couldn't imagine not feeling kicks at that point. She took a few pregnancy tests but they all showed negative. She had the baby less then 3 months later. I had never known anyone to not know before. I always knew even before I took a test.

yea, I have heard of people finding out at about 5 months, feeling the movements would be a tip off I think, but it is weird to hear that one doesnt know until birth. Me, too I always knew before taking a test as well, and it was always within the first month or so. So, it is hard to me to believe. I guess it is denial, or something.

Wow that is pretty mind blowing stacy! I know a couple of women who didn't know they were pregnant til they went into labour and even more who didn't know until 6- 8 months in! I knew straight away and find it hard to imagine finding out so late but hey it is amazing how quickly you can get organised when you need to! xx

that is true! I found out with all 3 of mine within the first month...so it seems hard to me to not know, but there are the one's out there that have no symptoms...(lucky them!) I think it would be a crazy experience to all of a sudden go into labor not even knowing! =)

That is very true. In fact, just recently my cousin gave birth not knowing she is pregnant until she was about to labor. This is a very funny statement. She said, she thought before that she is only getting fat and tried to do some heavy exercises and skipping rope. For good's sake, there wasn't any bad happened to the baby, and she still very healthy.

I have a friend who took three pregnancy tests that were all negative before she finally went to the doctor and found out she was pregnant. She was about 16 weeks along when she went. She said she felt pregnant, but when she kept getting all the negative results, she started thinking she was just having the symptoms because she was so paranoid about being pregnant. She thought she was pregnant and took the first test when she was about 6-7 weeks along, so she knew early, just convinced herself otherwise.

Wow! It is amazing that any lady could be pregnant an not know it. If she gets really fat and feels something is moving around inside her surely she most wonder what is going on. It would be quite a shock to suddenly go into labor and the lady does not realize she is pregnant. I think many people find out at the soonest opportunity with a home pregnancy test. I think most people will feel changes within their body a long time before they get fat.
