in a heated discussion? I literally can't stand arguments! Whenever I feel like a little discussion is fixing to boil over, I will excuse myself and just walk away. What is it that you do to keep your cool in a heated discussion? (: Please comment.

Thank you. I have been in several situations in the past where I was so angry, that I would verbally lash out. I have learned that it really didn't do any good. What works is a lot of patience. I wait until "whoever" is calmer, then I talk to them. I have gone through too much to put up with anyones b.s.

I will tell my husband that now is not a good time to discuss this and that I need to take a break before I say something I will regret. I will go sit on our swing on our patio for about a hour and then I will come back inside and try to have a mature discussion. Nine times out of ten this always works. When I get mad I will say whats ever on my mind and it always ends up making matters worse. My husband will just get up and go to the bedroom and watch tv and I know to leave him alone so he can cool down as well.

I have to say that you and your husband have some pretty good "let's not argue" techniques. I agree with you about not making matters worse. Theres no sense in it. Take care.

Yeah, I know what you mean! It took awhile for me to "perfect" this technique. I'm a Taurus, so I'm a naturally stubborn person...
