Well, being that we are a one income household with the third child on the way, I would like to help my guy out by making good and satisfying, yet inexpensive meals that would take some of the burden of money off of him. He hasnt said anything, but I think that any bit of cutback would be good. So, any ideas?

We eat as cheap as possible here. Some of the meals I make are tuna and noodles with either peanut butter sandwiches or garlic bread, spaghetti and garlic bread, grilled cheese and tomato soup, hot dogs with mac and cheese, things like that. I have found, however, that you can almost shop cheaper at Walmart than even the discount grocery stores and have more of a selection.

you have good suggestions... the soup and a grilled cheese would be good. I could probably make chicken noodle for not that much. Thanks a lot!

The crock pot is your friend! If you keep that in mind, then it will take you far! You can make alot (freeze leftovers for a later date) and plus, throw everything in there and cook it all day and it will be ready for when you get home! Some other great ideas are baked chickens. Buy whole chickens and bake them. One night you can eat baked chicken, then with the left over meat you can make a casserole or we like to make enchiladas or tacos or a stew. I like making casseroles with leftover stuff - they are easy and you can make alot of variations!

I know this may not sound too nice but the kids (and my partner) love this one and it is a good way of using up leftovers! A pot with cut up small pieces of potato and add cut op sausages, hot dogs, corned beef, or whatever and add baked beans, warm ujp and eat! Sounds kinda gross, doesn't look very great but my family can't get enough of it! xxx

well as a man, id say, the best thing my parnter could do for me in those types of situations is to cook me some steak!! not sure as to where you reside but in the UK, its only £3 for a really big and good bit of steak, but please get it from the butchers, not a supermarket or franchise! it spoils the taste!! if he doesnt like stake!!! erm, maybe try something new in bed that you know he likes!!! that one always works! lol
