Hi all. Im getting married and on a small budget ($2000). I would like a nice church wedding, with maybe 100 guests. I stay in manila. Any suggestions on how to pull this off with that budget? i need suggestions on photograper/videographers, flowers, cake, catering....the works. maybe if you know someone you can refer me too, that'll be great. thanks.

Don't get a professional photographer. Get lots of disposable cameras. Get your friends and families to take the pics. It will be so much more fun and personal! If you know a friend who has a camcorder, get him/her to do the videotaping. That will save you a lot of money. For flowers, do it yourself. A sweet one that I read somewhere is where this bride got people to hold flowers all along the aisle. As she walked down the aisle, she collected the flowers from the guests and when she reached the altar, one of her bridesmaids tied all the flowers together for her with a ribbon. Cake, just order a small one. Most people will be too full after the food (hopefully) to eat much cake. For catering, go buffet style.

I like the CD idea. Or maybe you can also do personalized soap or candles.

that would be okey...the important thing is the food. Don't go for expensive cakes, give aways or flowers... What is important above all is the blessing and make sure those 100 persons will be full after the wedding...

You are right about the food. Besides from the type of wedding gown the bride wore, my friends and i always remember the food that was served. So i guess no economizing in that aspect! thanks

I really don't know what $2000 is worth in Manila or how far it will go. As for 100 guests, and a church, I have no idea how you will do that on such a small budget. When I get married I'm going to hae maybe 50 people, and it will be an outdoor wedding at a Danish club near my place in Canada. That shouldn't be too expensive.

hey bestfriend!!!! are you forgetting that i've inquired into a lot of suppliers for my brother's wedding? ok. flowers. first of all...dangwa. i have a friend who arranges flowers in that area. you can give her a particular budget and she can maximize it. catering...definitely not the hizon type coz they cost at least 99,000pesos for a package. for giveaways i suggest you order a cupcake tree wedding cake. in that case cupcakes maybe given away just put a card with your wedding date and a thank you note. there are bigger cupcake sizes for principal sponsors. at least there are no leftovers. i can send you the initial budget i made for my brother if you still need it. church... the cheapest i know is sto domingo church...5k the last time i asked. mt carmel is 10k. the rest ranges bet 10 to 25k. for the reception you can have cheaper packages at hotel. most of their packages include catering, overnight stay, cake, 50pcs giveaways, wedding car and coordinator. depends on what you need. my uncle mentioned before that he had a breakfast wedding. that will cost cheaper on the food. imagine pancakehouse-like servings. or cocktail style early in the evening. it is nice to try unconventional style for weddings. photos and videos true. don't get commercialized photographer. you can get ideas from their demo and portfolio and ask someone good and fast in taking photos so as not to waste any nice moments during the wedding. assign to trust friends and relatives regarding stuff like those and simple coordination. TRUSTED ha. we cannot afford to commit mistakes on weddings. hmmm what else do you need. oh i saw this 100pcs small bells at wedding library megamall. it works as a bell for the newlyweds to kiss. that can serve as giveaway too. gown too can be packaged from non-signatured modistas. :)

Well a good place to get food is Samz Club and make it yourself. One other thing is use flowers that are not in season for sometimes they are cheaper than the ones in season. For the cake maybe you can have a friend make it and for decorations buy them at a outlet mall or something. MAybe oyu can get your sedding supplies out of Oriental Magazine.

Hello! Wedding is the best thing that will happen to a woman's life. But you must be practical nowadays. Have it a family affair and try to invite some of your friends. Do not spend more than your budget. Reserve your money for future purposes. What matters most is the blessings that you and your husband will receive during your wedding day.
