WMP keeps chrashing out

hey guys just wondered if any of you can help. I have had windows media player for ever but recently i open it and it crashes after a few songs. When i end task on it i can not then open anything else so have to restart my computer!! It is really annoying does anyone have any idea what i can do? cheers

You may need to reinstall your WMP or update it. If it still won't work, you might consider using a different multimedia player or software.

logariste is right. WMP11 solved a lot of my problems before i switched to VideoLAN. If you are already using WMP11, then you should make a clean install of WMP (uninstall first then reinstall).

Try going to microsoft update, and update everything including wmp if possible. Other than that, if your still have problems with WMP and do not want to try any other media player, go into the control panel and creating a test user account, and log into that account and see if WMP still crashes.

Get latest windows media player version (ver 11 i think) may be your soundcard driver corrupted (try to re-install the driver). If thats still doesn't work, get other media player like winamp :) lol
