my first step here in germany is very adventurous. come to think of it, living in a land with different language? sounds scary, huh?well, at first i#m just trying to listen carefully and study there actions because many natives here don't know how to speak english. but i tell you, learning to speak german is not easy. you can make your tongue twist from the word they speak, oh boy! machts gud und viel spass! :)

tell me about it. i've been here in germany for 2years now and i still can't say that my german is perfect. it's passable, though but not passable enough to my expectations. my 1st few months here was a mixture of frustration and boredom. i am a big talker and i have lots of friends back home so whenever i'm introduced to people that i can't make conversation with, i get kinda down. not everyone knows how to speak english and even if they do, some of them will still anwer in german even if you'e spoken with them in english. but i believe also that in big cities, people are friendlier. but everything's ok now. my german is better (than before, though) and i made a few friends. i'm sure you'll do just fine too. wünsche dir viel Erfolg und spaß beim lernen.

I took my BF friend from the US to Germany ... and he learned German pretty fast. It depends where you live but all younger people do speak German. If you ask for the coolest city to live in .. it's Berlin.

Keine Sorge, tun Sie fein. I only been there for 2 weeks on business trip. Pretty nice place. I think I am lucky as my colleague speak English and bring me around. I think I am more lucky, I am living in US as communication will not be a problem. (I am asian)
