i've had swollen glands and fatigue for about a year now and have been to the doctor loads. they checked my blood count, glandular fever spot test and a biochem test for liver, kidneys and thyroid. All came back normal except increased level of bilirubin in my liver check which i'm told is nothing to worry about. I am still worried however as i still have swollen glands and fatigue and there must be a reason. Does anyone know what could be wrong? also on a paranoid note - if someone has cancer would a full blood count show up the need for further investigation? thanks in advance

Have they ruled out Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Lupus? I have a friend who was sick for years and they never could come up with a diagnosis until she went to a new doctor. The first thing he did was have her fill out a questionaire for Lupus. Since they have been treating her for that, she is so much better! She still has her off days, but for the most part, she is able to keep herself feeling a lot better.

I am not sure about cancer showing up in a basic blood count. Have they tested you for Lyme disease or Fibromyalgia? It was just a couple of things that came to mind. I know of a great website for medical information but please don't let any of it upset you further. I have heard of some people reading those sites and ending up thinking they have some really bad disease. Just keep an open mind and I hope you find something there that will help you. Here is the website.... http://medlineplus.gov/
