Well for the past year or two my hubby and I were saving for renovation works we had done at home 3 months ago and also for a new car which we bought last month. Now I'm saving for my trip to India in November for 3 weeks which I'm really looking forward to. I will need at least £2,000 in total which I should be able to save by then. What are you saving for?

Thanks for the BR on this one :) I am visiting Calcutta where my parents own a flat where I'll be staying with them for a couple of weeks, apart from that I'll be visiting Darjeeling with my cousin for 5-6 days where we'll be staying at a family friend's bungalow. I have never been to Darjeeling and am really looking forward to that. Possibly the next time I visit India I'll visit Bombay and Delhi too :)

Unfortunately, at the moment I don't have money to save. But once I do, I'll be saving to take a trip out to New Jersey to visit my friends and family. Hopefully I'll be able to do that by the end of the summer. Or for my son's fall break. The last trip I took out there was in winter and we got hit with a winter storm that kept us inside and unable to visit any friends for most of the trip.

Saving???? Am I supposed to do that too?? I go month to month and just barely get by. We don't have any savings for anything. If there is a rainy day then there is the boyfriends credit card and cheap meals for a while. I would love to have more income coming in but there is nothing much I can do about the situation any time soon. if I had extra money I could save, it would probably be for emergencies so he can cut his credit card for good. Saving for rainy days. Saving for opening a small business. Saving to get married, if ever. Saving for a car. These are the 4 main things my savings will be used for.

Hello there Kudeshi:) Well for me I save money for emergencies. There was one incident where my son was in the hospital and I didn’t have a nickel to my name and there was so much that needed to be done for him. Since then I have created a savings for emergency purposes only, which has helped me many times especially with my last two pregnancies and when my son was sent on Medical Referral I hope too create another savings account one day to save money for a special trip, I know that I can’t save up enough to go to the states or something…lol..but at least maybe Guam for Christmas. We also save money here at home from day to day for things such as pizza, movies, computer games, game boy cartridges or anything else when they have saved over $20.00 in two weeks they decide how they would like to spend it. At this time they are saving to purchase a monitor for their computer. I got a free computer from a friend and the monitor is the only thing not working. I try to teach my kids the value of money and that they have to save if they want something because it is really hard for me to get what they want when my main focus is to provide what they need.
