we had a snow ball fight in the middle of summer

my daughter and i had a snow ball fight today. it was a blast. we were at the carnival in town waiting for the rides to open, and we were near the indoor ice rink. they had just cleaned the rink and put the ice and snow outside so my daughter and i went over to play in the snow. she was so excited. she never thought she'd see snow in the middle of summer.

Wow, that's sounds like fun. There is an ice rink about 20 miles from us, but we never go there. Next time if we are in the area in the summer, I would love to check that out. In fact, I am surprised that when it goes really hot, that kids don't hang around and wait for them to put the ice outside. (of course now a days kids have air conditioning and video games, that is unfortunate though, they are missing out)

that's true, i really think people are missing out on the simple joys of life. i try to let my daughter experience as much simple fun as possible. just getting her out of the house away from tv to jump in puddles and such. it's so much fun for her and it gives us good quality time.

This sounds great. I think it was great that you and your child were able to play in the snow. I do not have an icerink near me so I will have to wait for winter. These are the moments that you will cherish the rest of your life.

I bet that was a lot of fun. My son LOVES snow. My husband says that next winter they are going to have some small snowball fights and stuff. Last winter he was just learning to walk, so he didn't really get to play in it much at all. Plus it gets too cold here to spend much time at all outside. I'm sure as he gets older he will love snowball fights. One in the hot summertime would probably be even more fun, too!
