Mylotters, I haven't been a member of this site very long but I have noticed that we are all a very diverse group of people. Can someone tell me why some discussions get more responses then others? My girlfriend started one about brushing her hair before she showers and so far she's gotten four responses. I started one about my commute to work and the only response I got was from my girlfriend...LOL...anyway I'm just curious. Thanks

I think is the topics, how the discussion being raised, timing and interest. For myself, I do not have lots of responses from the discussion. Worst, I have lots of zero response. LOL. I have initiate one of the discussion, I have only less than 10 responses. But, another mylotter phrase it differently and beautifully but almost similar, more than 100 responses. Well, that's my luck.... ha ha ha

maehan, Thank - you for your response...you raised some good points also....I will have to take them into consideration next time I start a topic....I guess not as many people as I thought would respond to the super heroes discussion i started. Thanks again...

I think it has to do with several things. First, how many people that will see the discussion. If the timing is bad, and another discussion is posted in the same interest shortly after the one you posted, not as many might see it. Also, if you have many on your friends list, more people will see your discussions through there. I always go and see what discussions my friends have started, so I can reply to them before looking for others. It's also important that you write your discussion under an interest, that way you will generate traffic from everyone else with that interest. It also has to do with subject. If there's not much to discuss about the subject, then the replies will not be as many. Say for instance, that I post one topic about my great interest in the Swedish actor Michael Persbrant and one about what kind of music I listen to, the music one will most definitly get more replies. Some discussions just aren't that reply-friendly, often because there's no discussion to be had.

Susicook, Thank - you for your response, I guess I didn't think about the timeing and the other points you raised. I will have to take that into consideration next time. Thanks again,

I have no idea what people look for in conversation here its kind of weird. Personally I look for something interesting I can relate to and have something to say on the subject where as some people on here are just plain lazy or not smart enough to answer any good topics. I have noticed for over months that alot of stupid topics started get really good responses while Ill see a ton of really good topics with no responses. Who knows what exactly it is but good luck anyways!
