why do we always keep omly fathers name after our name?

Without father a girl cannot become a mom. It depends in India in some Hindu family the mom family name is put in name. But it the fathers family is considered to be the next generation continuation of that family. This is just a process of continuation of or leading a family essence to next generations. Usually a male is to be with his own parents more after he brings a bride from other house. It is very rare that a women brings a groom to her house after marriage in most customs in India. Father of is consider to be the founder like father of nation, father of science, father of economics, father of neurology, father of astrology so on. But more respect is given to mother, my motherland, mathrubumi, motherlanguage, mathrubhasha. So I hope moreover equall importance is given to both.

I have always believed a woman should keep her name and tack her husbands name on the end and then if it doesn't work out the they just drop the husbands name with the divorce I think it would make things so much easier in this world where divorce is becoming very common as for what name the children take well I guess they have to take one but I don't know why it should always be the mans name, maybe things will change in that area in the future..maybe
