I have always been able to do most math problems in my head...for me this is a simple process....but after raising three children and having so many grandchildren (7)...it has come to my attentin that there are many people that have great difficulties with mathematics.... Is math easy for you? Are you one of those people who has no need to go over the bank statements because you just know that your figures are correct? Did you require extra help with this subject in school? Math....easy or hard????

I have liked Mathematics and Science subjects since I was in school. I've never had tuition for these subjects. In fact, I studied these subjects all the way till university. As a result, my mind is the more analytical type, that is comfortable to deal with figures. In contrast, my wife is not great in maths. So at home, she relegates all the tasks that have to deal with money to me, like managing the finances, paying the bills, calculating our financial statuses and how much we are making from our investments and various kinds of deposits. My years of studying maths and tickering with sums and formulas is paying me dividends when it comes to managing such responsibilities for the household.

LOL the home work they get from school is way over my head. just like that tv show, are you smarter then a fifth grader! i would not get past the first question. LOL.

Math seems to be one of those subjects that people either find very easy or very difficult.... I do not think that the questions on that show would be answered by the majority of fifth graders....LOL Thanks so much for sharing with me, my friend....

When I was in High School, math has always been my worse nightmare. But being the persistent person that I am. I make sure that I would take up a course in college that had many math subjects in it. So I took up Economics. I wanted to see how far math can scare me, but I found out later on that math is nothing to be scared of. I even get a 100% score on my first math exam in college. After that math and I have become great friends. I always like to share my experience with math, and how I overcome my fear in it. I just hope that people can will find math as a friend and not as a foe.

Math was hard for me ever since I was young up until now. There were times when I know the answer just by looking at it but, when it comes to actually answering it, I find it very difficult. In doing a math problem I have to have a pen and paper with me. I can't do math mentally.

Well I guess it depends. People have different likes and dislikes and it always affect your personal ability. My point here is that, if you love math then it would be easy for you to understand things involved in math like me. In other words for me Math is easy. . .

Mathematics is a basic ideaology and contains logic with full expression to solve it through it own parttern of Formular. A maths solve without formular or basic idea and steps to solve it and get it right is not a logical enough and can never be solved. Once you understand the basic principle of mathematics been solve through it formular because maths is problem and it must be solve with ideas created as formulars then you dont have problem in solving matheamtics. Finally first reasoned very well and watch it clear before attempting it adapt the easiest formular and the stress is gone over it

I actually love maths it was my favourite and easiest subject at school, it was probably the only subject I excelled in. The school I was in wasn't much good and the teachers were hopeless. My dad was an accountant and I was to follow in his footsteps but I got sidetracked. I love number crunching and I love numbers and statistics. Gee I must sound boring now LOL!

You could never sound boring to me, my dearest Wolfie...not to me...I am intrigued by you...haven't you noticed....LOL I love numbers too...they make sense to me...what surprises me is that 1/2 of my children love numbers too and the other 1/2 just don't get them at all.... Thanks so much for sharing with me....

I never really had a problem with mathematics at all... btw.. Math is not even a word! haha. Maths is kinda fine (because it does refer to the plural) but Math is weird when it's short for mathematic"S" not mathematic. haha. If you study aesthetics you would say aesthetics.. not "I study aesthetic" in the singular! haha.. crazy americans who butcher the English language! haha.

In high school, math tended to be the one subject I got a "B" in when I had "A's" in everything else. So from that standpoint you could say math was harder for me than other subjects. Maybe it would have been easier if I practiced more, but I was good enough at it that I could manage an "A" or a "B" on a test with minimal struggle. I never really needed extra help. It never came naturally to me though, so I am okay at it - not terrible but not superior. I'd say somewhere I am in between.

I have decided that those who "get it" often do not put forth alot of effort because it seems to not be such a challenge to them...I would assume that you are one of them....LOL Thanks so much for sharing with me....

when i was in high school i thought math was difficult and it was hard for me to grasp the logic at first. i had to take extra math classes because i was afraid that i would flunk maths in my exams. that paid off, eventually i was able to improve myself in maths and excel in it:) i think maths is fun if you understand the concept and all, but it's probably not for me..lol.

Well, it's not that hard, but is also not that easy. It was really a pain when I started graduation, because I first started it on Engineering, and I have to learn differential equations, and lots of surface integrals, and thinks like that, that just wouldn't be easily learned. I also have some problems with some subjects like linear algebra, and some complex series... but well, the rest is usually fine for me.

Math has been extremely easy for me, I have been able to get everything I've learn and I haven't have trouble yet. I think its the way a person's mind works in doing math problems so everyones different in how good they are in math. A artistic mind may be good in drawing but not math, a logical mind maybe good in math than drawing.

As a kid I was in all the gifted and talented classes. I was a smart kid. I didn't get straight a's like my brother, but I was still really smart. However, once I got into middle school and took pre-algebra in 6th grade when most kids didn't take it till 7th, I learned that math was not my forte! I eventually left G&T math and took pre-algebra again as a regular math student the following year. Anyhow, the thing with pre-algebra was Math not only had numbers and symbols now, but it also had letters. Letters? In math!? You ask me to add, subtract, multiply or divide and I'm right there with you. I mean, I can't do it all in my head at the snap of a finger, but I can do it. But once you ask me what 3 multiplied by x to the 2nd power or something I get all sorts of confused. It was never by forte past the simplicities of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing!

I am a whiz at math. I always have been though. I aced all my math classes and took all my math classes in the first 2 years of high school. I was a little diappointed I couldn't take anymore. Now I do puzzle books instead...lol.
