My mother is 44 years old and we think that she is poing through the change of life. What is scary is that she had her peiod for 8 days with heavy bleeding on and off. She went to the emercgency room and they put her on hormone pills for 4 days which stopped the bleeding. Well 2 days after she got off the pills she start bleeding again, she went back up to the emergemcy room and this time they did not give her anything, they told her to follow up with a GYN doctor. Has anyone ever been through this before. If so what happen, what did they doctors say and do. I am trying to understand it so that i can explain it to her, shes a wreck and I feel so bad for her.

I would say your mother should see a GYN as soon as she can ,although it may seem like a lot of blood they always say its not reallt no that much, they have a shot called Dyprovara that stops the bleeding alltogether.

Your mom is at the right age for going through menopause. Some women have a rougher time than others. There are some natural hormone therapies out there . One of them is Estroven. It helped me and it’s safer than the Prempo and other.. http://www.estroven.com/ Here's a site that might help with understanding too http://www.menopause.org/default.htm
