Spell check please!!!

Have you ever misspelled a word so terribly wrong that your spell checker is at a loss? I use Word when in doubt, but I tell there are times I have mangled a word so god awfully, it’s just can’t help me. So I have found 9 out of 10 times, I can go to Google , put the word in search and it will correct it for me. What about you, do you use a spell checker and if so what is it? If not, is it you’re that wonderful of a speller or is it you just don’t care? Oh yeah, how is your spelling? Mine use to be much better than it has become here lately, LOL. I read, rate and thank all. :oD

What I hate about spell check is that I can spell a word that starts out like one word but I don't want to use that word but it ends up that word. Do you know what I mean? Like I just typed men and meant to type mean and it would have taken men if I let it go?? Very hard to explain but I hate it anyway.

Yes the stupid auto complete! My hubby knows how to turn that thing off, but I keep forgetting to ask him to do that for me. I have posted after running it through a spell check and changing of my words have went throught. I feel like a complete dork when that happens, LOL.

When I type long postings I use MS editor, I feel it's one of the good excercise before posting any mispell words on the net. But forgo usually for small postings like this.In my experience not only it corrects your misspelling, it also corrects your grammatic mistakes. I can give it 90 per cent marks out of 100.

I simply just dont care baby. I used too when i was working in psyciatric hospital when i lived in England, but back then i also had to write reports and sruff, so it was pretty important to do the spelling right. Unfortunately i have noticed and is very much aware of this, that after returning to Denmakr and have to re-learn my language in both verbal and writing terms, that my writen english has gone down too. But as i said i do not care as i know i can still make myself understood and that is the mainthing. Greetings

LMAO! I am a horrible speller. Luckily I am using the foxfire server now and it's got an auto spell checker feature. Like when you're typing in Word Perfect - it's got the little read line underneath. I am always stumping it!! Though there have been a few times I've had to add a word to it's dictionary LOL. When I stump it really bad I go to dictionary.com and I can usually find what I'm looking for there. Before I tried my best to do my best but I didn't worry about it too much.

Well I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one whose spelling has gone down hill. It was good in grade school but got progressively worse. By the time I got to college I was sort of permanently attached to a dictionary. Now I use spellcheck a lot. At the present time, my spellcheck isn't functioning properly. It points out the errors but doesn't make the corrections. Still it's a help because it at least alerts me to errors and allows me to use a dictionary for those words. My spelling is SO bad these days that I can't even pick out the spelling errors without some help. LOL

Oh yeah, I've been there before. Usually I feel like I am a decent speller, but sometimes a word that I do not use very frequently comes along and I do the best I can and spell checker comes back with all these different words that I did not intend to use :) I usually just have to spell the word wrong a second time and then spell check is able to find the correct spelling for me!

My brain is so old and feeble and fried, that when I know that I am spelling something wrong (because Firefox underlines it; but does not correct it), I search my mind until I can come up with a substitute word! ~Donna ps: When I was in primary school I was attended an old country school and won the Spelling Bee every year - so how humiliating is this for me to admit now ~D

The spellcheck function has been around in MS Word for many years now, but I've hardly used it. I can claim that my spelling is pretty good, but there are the occasional words that still stump me. I always make it a point to check my dictionaries if I have some doubts, rather than spell a word blindly without being sure how it should be written.

yaa i was like u also before but now since i use msword2007 i dont suffer probs like that but in order to be really good in spellings just practice where ever u see a certain word just revise its spelling atleast 10 times its not compulsory that the word is found in a certain book or behind a truck or on a street just see a word and repeat it many times so u can be fammiliar with the spellings.
