At the young age of seventeen I got addicted to crystal meth, it was pleasant at first and I even started to wonder why it was illegal, months passed though and I started to understand why. It took me a year but finally without rehab I was able to just quit. My older sister still uses it though even after several confinements to rehab. Why was I able to quit and not her?

Some people just need a little more help. Maybe your sister needs some guidance and needs to be directed into the right path.
I'm a recovering user. I used for the first time at the age 15, but it didn't really do much and I only tried it once at that time. Then I started back on it, really heavy around the time I was 17 and used all the time. I used for about a year or longer. I had a hard time quiting, but I did it and I did it on my own. I just woke up one day and wanted a change. I was happy after I was clean for almost 2 years or so and then I had someone pull it out one day and I just gave in without even thinking twice. I had no will power at all. I then got heavy into it again, I was hooked for about another year or so and I was worse into it then ever before. It got bad with me. I lost everything.
It took me everything in my power to finally realize things had to get better. So I packed up my family and me and my husband moved to a whole new state and away from everyone we knew that used and that has helped us stay clean for so long.
I guess some people just have more will power then others. Sometimes it can take someone 2, 3, or more time of falling into the pit, but if they have the will power, they can quit. They just have to want to.
It all depends on the person.
